They fit my Gretsch perfectly, and enhanced the overall look, the keys being a little larger then the stock ones (more gold). No drilling the locator holes...snapped right in. However, you will need to drill new retainer screw (small) holes on the Gretsch 5655. No problem with a Dremel, and old holes not visible on back of head. The locking tuners function as advertised. Very satisfied with ease of installation, the look and the PRICE...the cost of replacing a single tuner at a shop inspired me to do it myself. In fact, with the money saved, I got a whole luthier outfit, plus several sets of strings.

Many of my guitars have grover lockers on them. These do not feel functionally inferior in any way and were a drop-in replacement in my 1990s Epiphone Emperor.

These work just fine and are significantly less expensive than the big brand competition but they do feel a bit less smooth. No failures, so that's a good thing. Recommended.

I’m not giving 3 stars because it doesn’t match, I’m giving 3 stars because it’s the incorrect color. If you buy gold thinking it will match your existing gold hardware, it won’t. It’s a pinkish gold. Definitely off putting. The tuners seem fine.

They came quickly. I had to open 2 of the locking tuners because they were stuck locked all the way in making it impossible to get the string in. Seeing as I didn't want to wait for a replacement I used some pliers to reverse the thread a bit. I reset them and Voila.

When I got my first set, one of the locking mechanisms was stuck in place. I figured out that I needed to twist the rod with pliers and everything worked well. (After I took the whole tuner apart needlessly) Great ratio, steady change in pitch with knob turns. Seem to keep everything in tune nicely. They are shorter than my original gretsch tuners, but it gives the guitar a super sleek look.Had a beautiful moment of salvaging a broken g string off another guitar after ripping it's cracked bridge apart in a frenzy. It was just long enough to get into the peg and lock it down. I held my breath as it approached tune, but it held up. That's the moment I really fell in love with these tuners despite the little hiccup at the beginning. I am definitely putting them on more guitars in the future

Its perfect works just as good as my locking fender tuners i put i put them on an acoustic it works flawlessly very happy
