Great product, I have used it for two hunting seasons in my blind and works awesome, great batteries, they last for hours and hours, portable and for hunting pigs in spring and fall it works also as a cool fan to cool the ambient.Deer do not smell you even at 15 yards inside a blind, little noise of the fan does not bother wildlife.

Very robust product, very well packaged, well equipped. With 2 batteries, 2 usb wires, a usb wall charger, a strap, a well thought-out mooring ball joint and a carabiner. Clear instructions and very simple operation. The camo is superbly realized, colors and 3D. 2 fan speeds, the highest being audible but soft. To see on the ground. Does not smell of ozone, but ions are noticeable in the nose. Can't wait to see if it works. I tip my hat and congratulate W.I. on the French version of the instructions, made in impeccable French. Reviewed: tested in hunting situations. In a tent on the ground and in a closed blind, less than 15 meters away, the deer never smelled me or seemed to have heard the machine, which was operating at the lowest level. I recommend it.

*UPDATE*I was able to take the unit out for a whitetail deer hunt. Wind was out of the north which was not perfect wind conditions for where my popup blind is located. Multiple deer approached my blind from the south and continued to walk out directly downwind of where I was sitting. I even had one deer walk right up to my blind and they did not get spooked. The battery life (I ran it on boost a majority of the time) was excellent. I also had it mounted inside my blind behind my head. I know they show a picture of it mounted on the outside of the blind...I didn't do that and had excellent results. Still a 5* product from my experience. Oh, I also had it on as I walked to my blind. Deer walked up the path I used and they didn't bat an eye.I should note that I wash my clothes in scent free and also use the scentlok ozonics/bag after wash. I also use whatever is on sale for scent free spray. I say that due to this product isn't used by itself....but just another tool to use for a successful hunt.Experience with similar products:I have the ScentLok car adapter (purchased last year) and also recently purchased the OZ Chamber 8K and OZ500 combo. Both work great and utilize the ozone style of defense (barrier to break down your scent).Debate I had before purchasing:Like I noted above, I have utilized an ozone type of scent control in the past. I noticed that I am sensitive to the ozone method. Nothing too major in terms of feeling anything drastic, but I still feel it. That is after a short period of time of being in the ozone. I thought heavily on purchasing a similar product (to the ZeroTrace) but I was unsure how I would like it hunting within the "bubble" for an extended period of time. At least half of my time is spent in a blind, so I can't imagine the sensitivity being any lighter over a few hour span.My dilema while researching this product (Wildgame Innovations ZeroTrace) was that I had experience with the Ozone type of elimination, so I knew it worked. For a significantly less amount of money and well, it being a newer type of technology to the (hunting) field, I was unsure. With that being said, I have always been a fan of Wildgame Innovation products and the quality of product in which they produce. Therefore, I went with the ZeroTrace product.Early Thoughts:I have had this product for a week. At the time of typing this, I have yet to take it out into the field to use. I will tonight as I am going coyote hunting so I will try to get an update in the near future. HOWEVER I have put it through what I consider a pretty telling test. But first, I want to talk about the product itself.Product:The box that this comes in is sturdy and well packaged. It came with a double plug USB wall charger-which is extremely convient to charge both batteries (thats right...comes with two batteries). Also came with the swivel mount that attaches to the unit itself. It is attached via hand tightening. It also comes with a blind attachment as well as a tree attachment. Both attachments are used with the swivel attachment. The tree attachment utilizes a strap type of system while the blind one uses a bracket that is attached via hand screws. Nothing fancy but does the job.I was concerned that the unit would feel cheap and not "big" (sturdy). I was pleansantly surprised when I opened the box and took the unit out for the first time. The unit is solid and does not give me the "cheap" product feel.SOUND: Another portion that I was concerned about with reading some reports was that some folks mentioned the noise of the unit when turned on. Once I got the batteries charged that was the first thing I did (turned on max). There is a noise.....am I concerned about scaring anything that I'm out hunting for (deer, coyotes, turkey)....not one bit.Now I'm sure there are some folks who are curious if it gives a "smell"...or a feeling (like I mentioned above with a sensitivity to the ozone method). There is none of that. When I say none of that, there is literally no smell, no sensitivity, nothing other than a "breeze" that comes out from the unit.TEST:At this point I had everything checked off and was happy with the product. My thoughts now were focused in on if this product worked? Like I've noted, with the ozone type of scent elimination you know it is working because you can smell and "feel" it. So my last thought was this....is this product truly working or did I just purchase a expensive hand held fan with some quality marketing? Being that I wasn't going to get out to the field for a few days I tried to think of something to test the product on. So here is what I came up with:I have two young kids. Both our kids have used the same diaper genie. Anyone who has had or worked with kids, know those things, when opened, can put out a not so pleasant odor. I opened the lid on that bad boy and sat the ZeroTrace unit behind the opening blowing the ions past the opening. I left it running for about 10 minutes before I came back in......Upon my return into the room (left the door closed) I did not smell any "happyness" that was freed with the opening of the diaper genie. When I approached the genie and put my head down in front of the opening I did not smell any of the odors that were present when the genie was opened without the ZeroTrace. That my friends, sold me on this unit. With that all being said, I am not only happy with this product but I'm excited to add it to my hunting equipment. This is a great alternative if you want to save money or like me, have some sensitivity to the ozone style....or both. I will continue to use the ozone style for my clothing but when it comes to the field, this is going to be my go to item. There is one bad things about this unit. When I had my wife come and see how this thing works....she took a smell by the diaper genie...then turned to me and informed me I have no excuses for not filling my tags this year.

A die hard hunting friend that uses an ozone type scent killing device said I should give the Zero Trace a try. It was about half the cost of his but we didn't know much about it other than that. So I ordered one for the archery season in Wisconsin and it paid off.It seems to work as advertised. I only used it for 3 sits in a tree stand. The first two I couldn't tell how effective it was because the deer where up wind of me but the last site they where coming from all directions. I had a spike buck bed down about 40 yards down wind from me. Later on a doe being trailed by this huge 16 point 6 year old buck walked directly across where my scent should have been blowing. I had a North West wind and they came at me from the East and started to veer a little South before I could get a shot. I thought for sure that Doe would scent me and bolt but she held her course bringing that buck right to me. Even after I shot the Buck the doe still had no clue where I was. She wandered around and crossed where my scent should have been several times. I'm convinced that this device helped me get the buck of a lifetime. It came with 2 rechargeable batteries, 1 lasted for all 3 sits. I love the charger, you can charge both batteries at the same time. There are some minor issues though. the mounting strap is cumbersome to use. You have to feed one end of the strap through a type of clamp. Not so easy while holding the device in one hand then try to swing the strap around the tree and catch it with the other. I think you can perches a magnetic mounting device separately though? The fan is a little loud (similar to the Ozone one) but the deer didn't seem to be bothered by it.

The four instead of five-star review is for minor issues: tends to point down all the time on the swivel, battery can be hard to eject, the fan is louder than optimum, especially on boost. BUT, it works, I can now report. Had six does hanging out downwind from me yesterday morning, the younger ones played and frolicked with no idea anything was different. The two older nanny does sensed SOMETHING was up, but not enough to take off, and never blew or white-flagged. The stayed downwind of me for a good 20 minutes and fed and milled about before casually moving on, as they do. Also, a big plus for the WGI ZT PIFG (long name on this thing) is the price; pretty much half the cost of an Ozonics generator. I've used Ozonics for 10 years, I believe it works, but I have NEVER gotten from one season to the next without something going wrong; batteries won't charge, unit won't fire up, doesn't work right, always something. I've gone through three of them in 10 years and more batteries and chargers. Ozonics customer service is very hit-or-miss, and I believe they've been gouging consumers because they are the only game in town and they were able to charge too much and effectively blocked competitors from entering the marketplace for in-the-field use. Kudos for WGI for cracking the code and competing, I imagine ozonics will feel it. Time will tell how long a ZeroTrace will last, but even if I have to buy a new one next year I'm still ahead of the game.
