The rod doesn't perform well because of the eyelets

Accessories are helpful but cheap. Case is nice. Reel is not the best. I probably won't use it. Line is okay but NOT for nymphing. Rod does the jobs...gets you nymphing on a budget.Update.... rod tip broke off on a recent outing (probably just the 3rd time using the rod). There was no particular or noticeable incident but it broke. Will look to see if there's any warranty worth pursuing. Must knock down a star...or two.

O.K., another reviewer is correct that this is not, as delivered, a proper euro nymphing set-up. The weight forward line on the reel is completely inappropriate for such fishing because of the line sag it would cause. But I bought it for an inexpensive way to acquire a 10 foot, 3 weight rod and reel to use for euro nymphing. I simply stripped off the supplied WF line and spooled on an actual, level, braided core euro nymphing line and added a proper euro leader with sighter material and a tippet ring at the end. I tried it out on the Fall River in Oregon and caught three nice trout, using one of the supplied flies (the prince-style one with a black body). I can't really speak to whether it casts properly, having never used a more expensive euro nymphing rod, but it got the job done. The flies, fly box, zip reels and nippers, forceps, etc. are all nice to have thrown in. They aren't the best on the market by any means, but, again, they work and are usable. So I think this is a good value even having to add maybe $70 for a decent euro nymph fly line and euro leader material. Thus to Wild Water I'd suggest modifying the kit to include the nymphing line and sighter leader and maybe tippet rings. I would have been glad to pay, say, $50-60 more for such a rig. Anyway, I'm happy with what I got. Tight lines everyone.

This nothing but a lighter weight, traditional fly rod. NO EURO NYMPHING LINE! NO EURO NYMPHING LEADERS. Do you folks at Wild Water even know what Euro Nymphing is? Very, very dissappointted in Wild Water just putting this out there and calling it a Euro Nymphing set up. Thought this was reputable company....guess not! And listen E. Dodds. This is nothing more than a light nymph rig. NOT EURO. PERIOD. Pretty obvious you know nothing of Euro Nymphing! Nothing but a cheap attempt for Wild Water to say they have a Euro set up!

This is the fourth set I've purchased. I am by no means a pro fly fisherman. But I enjoy the sport very much and these outfits fit my needs and wallet. I've spent some incredible days in Northern Idaho catching Cutthroats and countless days in the Sierras catching rainbows, brookie's and browns. can't wait to try out my new Euro nymphing rod!! I do own a few Sage rods but find myself grabbing these more often than not.
