Like many people, my original Wii Sensor bar is just plain missing. So I had replaced it with a wireless one a few years ago, because at the time, that was all that Target or Walmart, or where ever I got it carried. I hated that thing... the batteries would go out constantly, and it took 4 AAs at a time. I felt like I was spending way too much on batteries. I get this bad boy... boom problem solved. Some other reviewers seem to have problems with being too far away, and the sensor not picking up their Wii remote. I've never had that problem. I sit probably 8-10 feet from the bar, and have no accuracy issues what so ever. Works like a charm. If you've been fussing with a stupid wireless sensor bar, do yourself a favor and get one of these, the money you save in batteries alone will pay for this thing in about a month.

My husband and I use a wii and a wii balance board for excercise on days we can't get out. During a move we had to store our tv and left the sensor bar in storage by accident. We missed the fun excercise and decided to buy another bar for the tv we purchased while renting until our house is built. Looked around and decided not to purchase a wireless due to the battery issue. We found this bar and for the price we decided to try it based on all the reviews. The reviews on performance of this item are correct. We haven't had any issues with the performance once we figured out how to hook it up through the cable dvr box etc. The reason I gave it a four was that it came wrapped in bubble wrap that was so tight and taped up we almost had to destroy the bar just to get it off. Then the two sided tape had already been taken off so we couldn't use that. Since we are on a crawlspace in this rental the vibration from some of the excercises make the bar move so we had to improvise to keep it from falling off. It looked like the bar we got was actually used and not new. I would have returned it but for the price just kept it as I am sure the return shipping would be more than I paid for it. The company that sold it has offered to credit the price or send a new one but since the one I have works I declined. I was asked by the company to remove my negative review but I want people to know that you might not get a new one but it will most likely work which is what I am most concerned with and won't remove my comments, I feel if you have a problem with this item the company will try hard to resolve it but the condition of the item is why I rated it a four. Would have just given it a 3 but the company has tried to fix the problem and gave it a four. The price is cheap but the product for me is good.

I THOUGHT the unit was doa. For a few bucks I wasn't going to send it back. Sent email-- company immediately offered resend or refund. Very, very responsive. BUT THE UNIT DOES WORK, looks pretty much exactly like the original. Someone gave us wii cables and the intent was to unplug the WII and perhaps occasionally use it in another room. I didn't want to often move the sensor bar. I figured someone would eventually break the fragile wire. When switching out my working old sensor bar to this new bar, the new one didn't seem to register, showing a 'hand'. Eventually I tried again and found that I could stand closer (too close for actual play) with my original bar. Attaching cables and trying to set this up , I was probably way too close. Especially for first set up of a new bar. If I backed off, this did get a 'hand' and was obviously working. Initially, it seemed that I was aiming way left. But I clicked wii set up, and though I changed nothing it seems the wii remote got the triangulation right. Now no problems and seems to work as well as the original.

After having an unfortunate accident with the vacuum cleaner and destroying the cord to the original sensor bar that came with our Wii I was desperate to quickly find a replacement. This one works just as well, actually maybe even better, than the original. We find that you don't have to be as close as with the original. I recommend bundling the excess cord and securing it with a zip-strip to avoid sucking it up with the vacuum! I like to wait a bit beforing submitting my reviews because we like to use a product for a while in order to give it an accurate rating. We've been using this for over a year and have never had any problems with it. I would definitely recommend this unit as a replacement should you destroy your original and for the price maybe even buy it ahead of time just so it's on stand-by should you have a vacuum-related emergency!

So, our original wii sensor bar worked and we didnt want to pay the $20 at the local big box store so we used that candle trick. Well we got sick of doing that because it was so glitchy from the flames flickering and whatnot. I decided to buy a sensor bar and got this one, well it kinda sucks as well, i find myself having to sit within 5 feet of the tv just to get it to work, you should be able to stand anywhere in the room and it should work, at least thats how the wii original one worked. o well, i guess you really do get what you pay for

This is a nice item for a few days, and then it breaks. At least that's what happened to us. Since we no longer have the box it was shipped in or any of the paperwork, it's our loss.

Our Wii sensor bar worked very nicely and then just up and died. I am thinking that this must be a fluke as I dont see any other reviews here and Amazon was wonderful and refunded the price in full. I am only writing because this I am about to order another one, but also feel that others should at least be aware of this possibility. Thankfully, we have the wireless sensor bar as a backup- it just eats my kids weight in batteries which is why we purchased the wired bar.
