Item arrived on time, BUT not much is actually good about this thing.1) It is not that easy to read the display unless you pick it up in your hands2) Humidity reading is pretty close BUT temperature is off by 12-17% to the HIGH side.3) Small notice inside the box says you CANT use batteries and the power cord at the same time, that just dumb .. it should know enough to use the power cord and " fall back " to the batteries if power is lost4) They put the power connector out the TOP of the unit instead of bottom, or at least lower on one side.5) Constantly cutting in & out of WIFI when only 3 FEET away from my router.6) Can only get updates into the smartlife app no faster than every 10 minutes... that might be ok for some users, but not for me. My other sensors can be set to update from an hour down to as fast as ONE SECOND ! For my usage i need 1 minute.7) Lastly, it drained over 40% of the battery in less than 12 HRS ! Probably because of the WIFI constantly connecting / disconnecting.For those of you wondering if it went crazy on WIFI because of 2.4G/5G being the same SSID, that's not the cause .... my 2 networks have separate SSID'sReturning this and continue to find something more suitable.

Full disclosure, I am old.. and when it comes to techie things.. not all that savvy. I was a little bit worried about being able to set this up.. TBH, I wanted it to work with Alexa. This came pretty quickly, with 2 batteries, and a usb cable too. It has a sticky pad to mount it, or you can just hand it from a small screw. I am planning on moving it around, so I didn't do either one. It also comes with one of those pin things, you need this to operate the reset button.. which is important. The other impotent piece of information is that it operates through an app, Smart Life. This is free app, which I already had on my phone.The instruction booklet was tiny.. so tiny I had to put it under a light and squint.. but it helped.This smart thermometer connects to wifi.. You need the app, you put in the batteries, use the pin to hold down reset for 5 seconds, and tell the app to add a device. I have used that app for a couple smart plugs, so this went pretty smoothly. It does require a 2.4gHz network. The other thing is that alexa needs to work with smart life.. I had already done that, it is a skill, so Alexa recognized this thermometer right away.I am glossing over this a bit, because I feel that most people are more experienced than I am.. My point is that if I managed to make it work, anyone can. The smart life app has a bunch of options, things you can set, the most important, to me, was F or C.. There is a lot more you can do with that smart life app, you can set up alarms, for example. I really haven't used that app very much.. You would probably want to spend some time looking at it.Once everything seemed to be connected and running, the actual temperature it was measuring seemed too high.. I believe it will just take time to settle down. BTW, I went to Alexa and changed the name, now I can just ask her what the remote temp is. Really nice.. I always thought the Alexa echos should have had a build in temperature sensor.. this is the closest thing to it. I dropped one star because the instructions were really hard to read...

Some reviews state the unit can be switched from Celsius to Fahrenheit. Purchased the item and found out not all units can switch. Otherwise the item seems to work just fine.

my first review was removed because i hurt the sellers feelings.. they were 4 days late getting me the item.it would be nice if the product came with a wall plug along with the batteries.

Works great and always stays connected letting me know when my greenhouse is getting cold. I just raised to low end temperature limit to show it will alarm is temperature drops below the threshold. Good value. Would definitely purchase again for the price.

i was looking for a plug in thermometer that i wouldnt have to replace the battery ever. this is it.the issue is that for some reason even if google home can see the temperature from this it will not allow you to set up automation based on its temperature. it will based on its humidity, which google home wont recognize, but you cant set it based on the thermometer. so while it works it does not work for me. if i bought a smart life compatible electrical outlet it would probably work but everything else i have is through google home so it doesnt integrate well.
