Great little hygrometer that just works right out of the box.If you have an expensive guitar and want to know the humidity level, this is the answer. I have a good humidifier in my home, but it just doesn't provide the level needed for my guitars.So I keep them in their case with D'Addario humidipaks and this hygrometer tells me at a glance that their in the right environment. Peace of mind .... nothing beats it.

I have one of these in every instrument case I own. They're not the least expensive out there, but they are about as accurate as any that I've tried (and I've tried LOTS!). They don't chew through batteries, and they're reliable after years of use. If you care about your musical instrument, put one of these and either an Oasis Humidifier or a Boveda 49% RH pack in your case, and you're all set.

I leave my Oasis hydrometer on top of the door in the case so it rests right beside my neck and my case is always laid flat and not upright or sidestood and this hydrometer tells me very accurately what's going on with the temp and humidity in the case which seems to be very accurate at this point. All I did was put in the battery, turn it on and let it get accustomed to the room temp and humidity and just leave it on and place it inside the case. It stays on all the time constantly monitoring conditions inside the case. I use humidipacks but I live in Alabama so when the weather gets more stable and not so much back and forth from hot to cold then I can remove the packs and this Oasis monitor as long as it's on and measuring, should tell me when the time comes around about when to add my humidipacks back for the protection of the guitar. My only complaint is that I'm not putting the velcro sticky part on the guitar or inside the case anywhere by no means so mine just lays on top of the internal door beside the neck. In the future if they could add a cordlike line or string attachment so it can be fixed to the internal accessories door inside the case so it wont move during travel and scractch the guitar or damage the hydrometer, could be a great flexible way of attachment to more desired areas inside the case. When traveling I open the case, lift the guitar, then place the Oasis inside the internal door.

I’m using this with a Martin in its case. Recently went out of town for a week. Upon return I could immediately see how well my humidification system held up while I was gone. You can see the range with a few clicks and a glance. This monitoring system let me know that my planet waves humidipak system worked flawlessly with no other active humidification in the house. If you have a solid wood guitar, this is a must have if you’re serious about protecting your investment! The holder keeps the hygrometer where it needs to be.

To find this hygrometer's reading increment, I've put this into Boveda one-step hygrometer calibration kit(75% RH) about 30 hours and it only 1% RH less than 75% RH. Really accurate and slim, this will easily to attach into your instrument case.

I bought this Hygrometer for my guitar. I love the very compact size, and so far as I could tell without other instruments for comparison, it seemed accurate - certainly accurate enough for the purpose.

I need to monitor the moisture in my home to make sure the hardwood floors don't shrink too much in the winter. I bought two of these for different parts of the house. When I received them, I checked them using the 'wet salt in a bag' method and saw there was a difference of 3% in their readings.I further confirmed by placing them side by side and verified their readings at ambient temperature and observed about a 2% difference in reading. This was accurate enough for my application and am happy with the purchase.

i wish there was a way or something to attack the hygrometer next to the sound hole, closing the case with the hygrometer sitting free on the body of the guitar worries me because i don't want it going in the hole or to slide around and cause any marks. There should really be some way to hold it on that COMES WITH the hygrometer.

If you are concerned about humidity (or the lack thereof) affecting your guitars or cigars, you need to get something like this that is reliable, accurate and easy to use.It keeps track of the highest and lowest values. Batteries seem to last a long time.Slim design and light plastic might be fragile if improperly left inside an enclosure where it might get damaged.Batteries might be a little tricky to change. The screws to remove the back are very teeny-tiny.I am not overwhelmed by this product but I feel better knowing that I can at least establish a baseline and go from there.I am guessing accuracy is within ten to fifteen percent...close enough.This is meant to measure enclosed cases and not rooms or large open spaces.Comes with a metal clip and adhesive tape for mounting and Velcro for case attachment and restraint.Most experts say anything below 40% humidity could cause damage to fine quality instruments. This unit is affordable enough to own so you can sleep a little better at night knowing your nice Gibson acoustic guitar is not cracking and warping.I am glad I bought it.

Not much to say about this item except that it measures temperature and humidity inside a guitar case or other small enclosure. The slim design fits easily in the confines of a hard case and you have a choice of velcro or clip on mounting. The clip mounts to the device with a pressure sensitive adhesive strip. Don't know how well that hangs on but the velcro mount worked fine for me. The min/max buttons are nice so you can see what your guitar was up to while you were away.Unfortunately, after living with this unit for several months, it doesn't seem to be very accurate. I have four digital hygrometers in my home. Two that are part of larger wireless indoor/outdoor weather stations, a cheap one from Harbor Freight, and the Oasis. I set them all in the same location and waited a couple of hours to see what would happen. The two weather stations and the HF cheapie agreed to within a percent. The Oasis read 5% lower than the others. This is not a big deal except that you're aiming for a specific value in a guitar case and an accurate instrument would be helpful in doing that.I sent this first unit back to Oasis and to their credit, they supplied a new one quickly at no charge. Sadly, this new unit reads even lower than the first, 8-10% lower than any of my others. The only reasonable conclusion I can make is that all Oasis hygrometers simply read low, and in a guitar case application this will cause you nothing but angst and uncertainty as you try and get the humidity in the case up to the recommended 45-48%.There are small, inexpensive hygrometers out there that are settable and can be user calibrated, and I think this a better solution than the more expensive and inaccurate Oasis. I originally gave this item 4 stars but have now reduced that to one. If an instrument does only one job, but does it poorly, what good is it?
