Whiteside manufactures outstanding router bits. This set is for undersized panels (7/32”) panels. For 1/4” panels, the part number is 5992.

Regardless of the type of bit, I only buy whiteside. They are sharp, and stay sharp for a long time.

Super sharp and durable. Clean cuts in 1 pass in both oak and maple.

I mostly use whitside router bits, because they are the best. I have built 4 full kitchens. They were still cutting poplar, maple and most soft woods, but not so clean on oak.I got them sharpened and they are cutting like new now. That's not bad for $100.

These are the real deal. I have made shaker paneled doors with tablesaw dado blades several thimes and I can say by comparison this setup with a good router and table just cannot be beat. It makes a cleaner more consistant cut that is by far superior to using a tablesaw to achieve the same result. Setting up for shakers is quite simple. It will take a few pieces of scrap wood. Cut the tongue first by "guestimating" the height of the bit in the table. Run scrap wood pieces through and adjust accordingly. I used a quality depth guage to measure the distance of the tongue from both sides of the wood piece until they were exactly equal. Once I had the router setup and centered, I cut all the tongue pieces at once. I then changed the router over to the groove bit. I used one of the tongue pieces to set the initial height of the bit (while mounted in the table) and used scrap wood to cut groove pieces that would perfectly mate with the tongue adjusting the depth of the router accordingly. Once I had it set, I ran all the groove pieces at once. Perfect match! I would also add that it is quite necessary to use a backer piece to prevent tear-out as the end of the piece leaves the router bit. Enjoy!

I mean I really do not need to say much as the quality of whiteside router bits speak for themselves. If you just so happen to have read past reviews on whiteside products you will know that I am very partial to whiteside router bits. I also like Freud router bits and Infinity Cutting Tools router bits, but Whiteside bits are by far the best. They are just superior quality to many other popular brand router bits. The machining of these bits is perfect. They hold and edge and stay sharp for a very long time. I tend to buy router bits as I need them. Ive always cut tenons and slots for my shaker stile doors on my table saw. When I first did it I made a setup jig for the table saw to make the tenons perfect every time with out much fuss. This can still be time consuming. So recently when a neighbor enlisted me to build new cabinets for his kitchen which would involve building about 20 shaker stile doors. I decided to pick this bit set up. My goodness did it make building these doors a breeze, cutting down the building process by at least half. These bits went through 40 maple stiles and 40 maple rails with out fail. No burning and minimum tear out and they are still sharp and ready for the next project. So Im telling you. If you are still buying those cheaper router bits and have not tried whiteside then you should do so right away. Also I forget to mention that the slot cutting stile bit makes a perfectly sized 7/32 slot for typical 1/4" plywood.

First of all, what the picture in the listing doesn't show is the great packaging that comes with the set. The cutters themselves are coated in a thick rubber like coating that protects them in transit. They come in a great 2- piece plastic storage case which contains a foam block which securely holds the shanks of the bits.....very impressive! Now if they only perform as good as they look. I was NOT disappointed! From the minute you unpack them you can see the quality machining, the bearings roll free and easy and the carbide is thick and sharp. Set-up took a few trial and error runs, but once I got it dialed in they worked perfectly. I suggest making a set up jig to save for future use. Very happy with this set....you get what you pay for.
