Used in a bag setup to split one mic input to two mixer recorders. Does the job well electronically but is very much on the large size for the job at hand. I also didn't like that the input XLR didn't have a lock on it. The first thing I had to do when I received it was take it apart and drill out the cheap plastic XLR Whirlwind had put in then replace with a sturdy Neutric XLR so that the mic cable couldn't be pulled out from the box. Cheap money making decision obviously made by accountants at Whirlwind and not people from the field.

I bought a pair of these to replace a pair of ART splitters I used in my balanced stereo system. The fidelity was audibly superior to the similarly designed ART units. The Whirlwind was more pricey, but if you want quality, pay a little more. One star off for not clearly labeling ground lift on or off.

Whirlwind makes a few things and they make them very well. This splitter is amazing. We have several and have been using them for many years without a problem. Solid construction and clean sound.
