The Ice Machine Drain Pump Kit helps remove excess water from melting ice inside your appliance. This is an accessory that can be used with most 50-lb ice makers manufactured in the year 2000 or later; check to see if your model number is compatible. This pump is designed to purge excess water up to 10'H. Replacing this accessory will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the ice machine and novice repair experience. You must unplug the ice machine or shut off the house circuit breaker for the appliance before installing this part. Also make sure you turn off the water supply before you begin. Helpful Tip: We also recommend using affresh® Ice Machine Cleaner* (item W11179302) to help reduce mineral deposits that can clog your appliance and affect its performance. *affresh® brand products are owned and distributed by Whirlpool Corporation.

Remove water resulting from melting ice with the Condensate Water Pump. Water pump fits all 50-Pound. ice makers that were manufactured in 2000 and later. Condensate Water Pump is designed to pump excess water up to ten feet high.

After installing this pump, the icemaker would randomly shut down. Might work for a few days, then randomly shuts down. We have had the Whirlpool Technician at our house five times since this pump was installed, each time they diagnosed the machine with different problems, then the Technician spoke directly with Whirlpool today, and Whirlpool explained to the tech it's these pumps, they are getting many calls with the same problems, and the issue is this pump. They are coming back hopefully at the end of this week with a new pump direct from Whirlpool, if that fixes the problem I will update my review. We own two of these icemakers, the one without this pump works great, the one with this pump has been a frustrating nightmare!

This pump was a good fit for my Kitchenaid ice machine. The mounting holes did not line up well, so I had to adjust and this pump would be a perfect fit got the 15” wide machine, but the included drain line from the hopper to the pump was about 2” too short for the 18” wide machine, so I had to make a new line.

Pros: Good instructions, fairly easy to install, does not require a technician. I already had an older model Kitchen Aide Ice maker that was previously installed and tubing was in place so that made it easier once I bought a new Ice maker & installed this pump. Ive had this installed a little over a year & still no issues. I highly recommend this product if one is needed for your ice maker.

Needed a drain pump for whirlpool ice maker. This is the same kit Whirlpool sells but for lots more $$. Parts fit great. Took maybe 10 mins to install. Shipping was fast.

The first one we received was DoA. It came in a factory sealed box so we knew it was an original Whirlpool part HomeAppliancePart came through with a replacement. We had the replacement within a week. I am giving the 5 Stars mostly to HomeAppliancePart for their rapid response..It is a simple part to install. All we needed was a screwdriver. The drain tube was the trickiest aspect of the installation. The drain for the closest sink had to be reconfigured with an additional drain tube with a side tube. Similar to the drain hookup for a dishwasher without a garbage disposal. The under-counter ice maker this replaced was very noisy. The drain pump for that unit was particularly load. This pump has a very soft whoosh sound.
