Wheeler's Bore Lapping Compounds are available in three grits: 220, 320, and 600. This combination of lapping grits allows for cutting (220), smoothing (320), and polishing (600) your firearm's bore. The compound is useful for a variety of applications including lapping bores, bolt faces, and bolt lugs. When lapping a bore, pressure will likely increase with grit impregnated bullets. Due to the likely increase of pressure, light loads are recommended. Five shot strings up to a maximum of twenty shots of each grit are recommended. Use progressively finer grits to reach a significantly smoother bore. Each 1 oz jar includes high-quality silicon carbide abrasive paste.

This worked great to allow a Beretta/Benelli choke tube to screw in all the way. Initially, I could only get it to go about ½way, into the lower barrel of an inexpensive Turkish shotgun, although, it would fit the top barrel fine. The piece was purchased over the internet and shipped to my FFL dealer, so I didn't want to go through the hassle of returning it etc. I would recommend also purchasing a real Berreta choke wrench too. I just smeared some of this compound on the threads of the choke tube and screwed it in until it felt tight and then it backed it out and repeated the procedure. On each try, the choke screwed in a little further. It took about 5 (or 6) times and now the choke is fully bottomed out the way it should be in the barrel. It was harder getting the stuff OUT of the threads afterwards than actually chasing the threads. I just used lacquer thinner, with an old toothbrush wiping with "Q-tips and paper towels. I kept it up until the paper towels came out clean.

It is exactly what I ordered, however, for some reason Wheeler only fills the container approximately 1/3 full. The size of the container is misleading when you take into account the amount of product you receive.
