I was pleasantly surprised after unboxing the pump. The unit is compact, well built, and has a solid feel. The weight is heavy enough so it won't be tippy when in use but not so heavy that it is hard to handle. I viewed the specs for several brands of pumps. Decided on this model because of the built-in vertical float switch, cast aluminum housing and has top suction. Still preparing the area where pump will go so hasn't been tested yet plus I need a pump stand. It has to lift water about 3 ft, and discharge 30 ft. I am confident that the Westinghouse 1/2 HP submersible sump pump will handle the job easily!

The pump arrived quickly and in excellent condition. I have installed it and it works flawlessly, as it should. The float assembly is designed into the pump. The float is tucked in nicely and does not require space outside the pump to operate. The pump is quiet and moves water quickly.

Feels solid. Haven't had to use it yet, but for the price it will do the job just fine.

We looked at a few different brands of sump pumps, but came back to Westinghouse. We decided on Westinghouse because we know the company. Our cousin is an engineer at Westinghouse for 25 years.Fast delivery. Easy install. Works great! Would definitely buy again!

Westinghouse name, this is a good looking little pump and seems solid. I have not placed it into service yet, but will soon and I have high hopes. The epoxy coated aluminum motor housing is done very well and the thermoplastic pump housing will do better in a sump pit then the cast iron (no rust!)

I have high hopes for this product. I haven't seen the Westinghouse brand on many products over the years, so I am hoping that the product performs to the high standards they were known for in my youth. The pump appears to be well made of heavy cast iron. My pool house has a sink and toilet which dumps into a catch basin. From there, the sewage is pumped into the main system. Very light use for only half a year. The pump is removed in the winter and stored indoors. It should last me 20 years. Not that anybody is ever going to see it but is has a nice paint job with the Westinghouse logo. The packaging was environmentally friendly but could have been a little more robust. The bracket that holds the float assembly got bent in shipping but was easily put back into shape. Plugged it in and the unit sprang to life. High hopes.
