Does what it says it does. I heats the little steel staples up hotter than the melting point of plastic, you embed them in the plastic, wait a few seconds, and remove the tool leaving the metal in the plastic. Has come in handy a few times.

I seem to be doing plastic repairs more often than not now days. This Stitch kit works really well in a bit better than I expected. Kind of reminds me of soldering but for plastic. Metal stitches go in fairly easy and then can be covered with a body filler if you would like.

For the price it worked better than expected. Functions well, relatively heavy weight for the size indicates good heavy duty components in a device like this. Heats the welding wires within about 5-6 seconds but other higher wattage models would heat even quicker which would be a plus if mending long cracks and installing many staples. I mended some cracked plastic household items with it and will get a few more years of service from other wise trash bound plastic goods. Putting the staples in the gun is a bit finicky but I imagine all similar plastic welders have the same issue, it seem to work best for me if I slightly inserted one wire of the staple then bent the other side into alignment and pushed both sides evenly with a little pressure....I would suggest that while inserting the staple you do so over a table top and not over the floor or ground because if you drop the staple to the ground it will be hard to find and may end up being stepped on and risking a foot puncture Note: the staples Are Not Magnetic so you can't sweep for them with magnetic pick-up tool. The side cutter style pliers give a flush cut to wire ends But the metal is too soft on the blades and after a few cuts the edge was damaged beyond use and I threw it away, You'll need to get a side cutter made for hard steel. After pressing the hot staple in the plastic and releasing the trigger it only takes a couple of seconds for the molten plastic to cool enough to pull the gun back and it releases the staple quite easily with no resistance. I had a softball size hailstone crack in a patio chair that I repaired from the bottom side so you couldn't see the unsightly repair but the chair was molded in such a way that some parts were thinner than others and a few of the staples over penetrated and could be seen on the top chair seat but overall it made a good strong repair and saved me $40 dollars instead of buying a new chair.
