It's almost guaranteed that whatever scenario you'd like to use this on, you would be better off to use a different method to fix or fasten. Best case scenario with this kit is that you are left with items which appear to be connected, but are ultimately dependent on a connection of burnt brittle plastic, which is basically never a good thing. Add to this the potential exposure to dangerous fumes, the potential for burns, the fact that the tool itself does not inspire any confidence, starts smoking immediately upon being plugged in and feels like it might melt in your hand.... I'm not a big fan of this one.

This plastic welder is a game-changer for DIY repairs! Heats up quickly and works efficiently for fixing car bumpers, dashboards, and even kayaks. The different tips and welding rods make it versatile. Great value for the price!

Great little tool for fixing broken plastic items, attaching heat-adhering items, or finishing imperfect 3d prints. I've used mine for all three and more. I was very pleasantly surprised at the flexibility of the tool.Use is exactly like a wall-outlet powered soldering iron. Don't touch the tip (obviously).Great product at a great price.

This welding kit includes practically everything needed to mend broken plastic parts. The included 150W iron holds true to the claim of reaching operating temperature quickly, and heat transfer is very good to all three of the included tips. The triangular tips are particularly effective for embedding the supplied wire mesh, as well as melting and smoothing plastic surfaces. The colored welding rods are a very useful addition to this kit, just be mindful that the larger black and white rods are TPO, while the smaller ones are PP. The rod you choose will be dependent on the type of plastic you are mending. The aluminum tape is very useful for keeping your parts in place during the welding process due to its high heat resistance. Other accessories include a basic stand, sandpaper, wire brush, and stubby Philips screwdriver.A well ventilated work area is always recommended to prevent exposure to fumes. Cleaning your tips after each use will significantly prolong their usability, and replacement tips are inexpensive and widely available.

So what we have here is basically a wood burner with removable tips. That with the supplied “rods” during my try out actually surprised me with its results. After using it to bond two sections of plastic once I figured out how to go about it. Didn’t take long to get the hang of it, but directions would make it easier. Iron heats up quickly and holds temp well. Using supplied filler material I easily produce a quick and well bonded repair.

Works grea on PLS and easily melts plastic parts. You can even smooth them or join them using this tool. Great to have for those tough parks that need a lot of cleaning up. Glad to have this in my toolbox.
