I was just looking for some dowels and a 1/4" bit, but this turned out to be better... It also has the hole center points , which are a clever way to align the hole on the second piece.this is more accurate than a self centering jig i was using (that has issues and not worth the $40) . This bit has a special point that lets you locate the center point indentation. The only challenge is maintaining a perpendicular angle when drilling. The collar for depth control is another bonusMy kit only had 12 dowels; they were not a full 1 1/4 in long, but that's not a major issue.
