Run like a champ and pack like a champ. I originally bought this to pack down the ground for the footers of the building. I could hook this thing up to a hoist.Drop it down into the footer and pack it down. I've since used this for driveway. Let my old boss borrow it so he could do his patio bricks. It works very well.It packs very well. Zero issues. Only damage that I have to. It is the foam handles are basically gone, and it's lesson i'm six months old. A heavier foam would have been better.

This compactor starts and ramps. That is more than I can say for the many we have bought for higher prices. It runs slow but does the job well. One season behind is with this machine and I've patted it on the head and said thank you. If I had to spend $500 on one of these a year it would be a good investment but I think I'll get another year easy out of this one.

This has spent more hours in the shop than it has ran. The vibrator assembly went out had to pay out of pocket $186.00 The shop charged me $240.00 and it still going back to the shop because It doesn't matter if you use locktight and new lock washers and you torch it down, It will loosen up and fry the vibrator assembly unit.

I am a small excavation company and I bought this when the cost to rent one at my local rental place was about the same as purchasing for how many days I needed it for. The user manual says this, but you must put oil into the engine first, luckily the motor has some.sort of low oil sensor and it will not start without it. It's heavy but the handle flips so you can push or pull the machine depending on the work area. It has a eye hole at the top, which I put a threaded chain link on so I can hook it up to the tractor pucket and lower it into excavation sites. Really happy with my purchase so far. Only thing where there is room for improvement is that the oil filler is so angled its hard to put in oil with out it spilling over the fill neck but that's small engines for you. Also the handle grip is just soft foam that is easy to rip but it doesn't bother me, doesn't effect the performance of the machine.

Very well built, easy to start, easy to maneuver, and basically propels itself even up a slight incline. Machine really is of respectable quality as others mentioned. In my area, the Amazon purchase price was very close to the weekly rental price at the local equipment rental store. I had planned to sell it after my concrete slab project, but it compacts gravel driveway so well I will probably keep it for that purpose. It is also surprisingly fuel efficient compared to a mower or pressure washer of similar engine size. Definitely a worthwhile investment.

This compactor starts easily and runs very well. The weight of this machine combined with compaction force is quite effective. I used this on a large residential driveway to compact a 4"-6" AB base, and concrete pavers laid on 1" bedding material (1/4" minus decomposed granite) over the AB base. I have purchased cheap tools (harbor freight) in the past and have never been happy with the quality. This machine exceeded my expectations in quality and efficiently performed the work it was designed for. My plan was to sell it after completing the project but I'm so surprised by how well it works that I'm strongly considering keeping it for possible future projects, and it will make a nice addition to my tool collection. One more thing. If you get in a tight spot and can't turn the machine around, adjust the throttle just a bit above idle and you can make it reverse direction (might require a little bit of pulling/pushing depending on if you are on a uphill grade).
