Well made product with excellent customer support. Was skeptical of buying aluminum model but glad I did because it saves weight and definitely is engineered for the task. I haul a 34’ boat and trailer weighing a total of 14,300 lbs and it gives me assurances of having the proper tongue weight. It easy to assemble each time. I lost a dust cover and they sent me a new one free of charge. I was concerned that it wasn’t reading correctly and the company said to let them know and they would stand behind it, but it is correct as I tested the tongue weight using a truck scale loaded and unloaded, and calculated that I the tongue weight was spot on. Would definitely purchase again. Highly recommended.

First off I was concerned about which version of the hitch I would receive. *if you are unaware, In spring of 2024 Weigh Safe released a new version, Version 2. All of the pictures and descriptions on Amazon show Version 1. I did in fact receive the updated Version 2. Awesome!Version 2 has an updated weight dial that is filled with glycerin and the numbers are at the bottom of the dial instead of the top. It also has a redesigned slider and they rounded a few of the edges and corners to make the sliding easier.Now onto the first impressions. WOW. I cannot believe how light this is. Super easy to handle! The max towing capacity is insanely awesome. It’s hard to believe that this material is so strong! Albeit, a very sharp looking piece of material, I look forward to the hitch aging as I will be dipping in salt water fairly regularly.Slightly off topic, I would like to see some Hammerlocks made by Weigh Safe! For those who have Fords or GM’s with the very strange tow hook hangers that don’t hold S hooks etc very well, Hammerlocks are your answer!All and all I love this weigh safe hitch! I just freed up the entire area under the rear seat as I was able to get rid of all the different size hitch equipment I’ve been hauling around. Now it’s just 2 Balls under the seat :wink:I have a 2018 GMC 3500HD Duramax Dually that is stock height with air bags. The 6” drop seems like it will cover all of my basses! I did not get the 180 hitch because I feel the upside down unused hitch ball would be too close to the ground if I had the hitch at its lowest setting. Cheers!

It's so nice to check weight of the trailers I tow PLUS extremely easy to change height and tow ball. It's definitely heavy duty and alot lighter than a steel adjustable tow setup! I also got the 1 7/8" ball because I've run into a couple of trailers that required that size, and I want to be prepared for anything!

I have tried other hitches, this is top-of-the-line with the built-in scale and the same key-coded locks are excellent features. Now I know that I'm not overloading the rear of the truck and carrying multiple keys for the same product.

This is the second one I’ve bought. I had the first one with a 2” tow bar and loved it because of the scale and adjustability. I was rear ended with that one installed. This hitch took most of the impact. The truck hitch was broken across the 5” steel part that slides into the frame. $7k damage to my 2023 GMC 2500hd and the SUV that hit me was a rite-off.This hitch looked fine but I ordered a new one because the manufacturer recommended replacing it after such an impact. Although the ball and scale were mounted at almost the lowest point, which likely contributed to the frame mount damage, the aluminum drop bar still looked straight. I don’t think a steel hitch would’ve stayed straight.This 2 3/4” draw bar should be even stronger.

We just got a new truck and it has a wider receiver, so we "had" to upgrade our weighsafe hitch and buy the 2.5.The last one was a standard 2 and it never failed us. We sold it with our old truck.I have an on the ground tongue weight scale and it always matches, so I feel secure knowing I can take a look and now what my tongue weight is.Aside from that, they have versions without the scale if you don't want it and this hitch is TOP notch.I love you don't have to torque anything, you can change the ball height at any time and very easily. It comes with two ball sizes that are very easy to switch out. It also allows you to flip the ball around so that it is under the truck - this saves shins and keeps the ball out of the weather.There was zero rust ever on my last one and I'm sure this one will be the same.The key that unlocks the pins to be moved cannot be removed unless the pins are locked into place, so that is nice to know you won't accidently leave your ball assembly unlocked.You can get lock accessories that all have the same key as well. Anything that comes with a key they provide dust covers for as well.My photos show the ball stowed as there are plenty of pictures of the ball in action.

This is awesome! Put this on my 2017 F250 Powerstroke Diesel..... Uh, every bit as awesome as my truck. It ain't cheap, if you want cheap, go buy something else..... If you want quality, this is your hitch. Clearly, somebody sat down and said "How can i make the best, highest quality, adjustable hitch that's super easy to use? "..... and then they went and did it.The extra cost is offset by the value provided by the superior features, materials and design.The tongue weight guage is perfect. Tells exactly how much weight is on it....no more guessing or estimating.Craftsmanship and build quality are extremely good. Simple design...i need simple, not complicated...I got too many complications already.Also, matching locks on the receiver and the adjustable hitch are perfect.
