If you have the frame kit this is great for fish (need to spray and heat hot first) or some veggies that are cut smaller (I don’t use it for corn).

Just received the WEBER Crafted Roasting Basket (part no. 7673) yesterday. Placed inside my Weber E-325s NG grill and on top of my already purchased Weber Frame Kit (part no. 7677) for a quick visual Inspection . My fears were realized when as anticipated the basket “Hooks” did not engage or per Webers instructions “secure over the innermost part of the frame” (see diagram C). Hence, said basket slides from right to left within the grilling area per this faulty design. Therefore this is a blatantly False Product Description and not acceptable from a company that prides itself on quality and design. Why have the two hooks (per each side) if they don’t connect to the below frame. I actually think placing the roasting basket directly on the standard grates is a better option, thus not needing the frame kit altogether. Now for some this may not be a big deal and the basket does appear to be a nice product (hook issue notwithstanding). I’ve have spoken to WEBER’s Customer Service (a waste of time regarding this issue since their response was to send me the same instructions that I already had). Additionally I followed up with an email explaining the problem, but have not heard back as of this writing. So in summary, I could (1) return said basket unused or (2) live with this aggravating design or (3) come up with a “do-it yourself” fix to secure the basket to the frame kit. Hence, a One Star Review is being submitted for a falsehood in their product information and the obvious poor design that WEBER has not addressed.

I got this specifically for my Weber Genesis craft cooking system. However, I have great results without removing the grates and just placing this on top. I get good results both ways, but not having to remove the grates saves time and allows you to move this around, which may be helpful depending on what you are cooking on different parts of the grill. My method is to mix cut veggies with olive oil and salt (and sometimes pepper or other seasoning) and throw them on this basket on medium-low heat. It facilitates flipping with a large spatula with the sides keeping the veggies in and easy to control. The one drawback for cleaning is that it is too large to fit into my sink all at once, I have to clean an end at a time. But the large size makes it easy to cook for 4 or more.

It gives you a large surface to use and because it sits directly over the burner it works exceptionally well.
