My mom is 82 yrs old and absolutely obsessed with the weather. She likes to keep tabs on the precipitation level down to the tenth of an inch, so I knew she would love this rain gauge. She's had plastic, glass, and digital models, but this one is the most solidly built anybody in our family has ever seen. It was super easy to install on an exterior hand rail, and it's big enough to be easy to read and clean. The size also makes it easy to hold/grip for emptying. This rain gauge was not cheap, but neither is the build quality; this is an example of getting what you pay for. If you're looking for the Abrams tank of rain gauges for the weather fanatic in your life, then this is the one you want!

I wanted a guage that was obviously functional and not look cheesy. This guage has a strong stake and copper cup. The gauge will rise as the rain collects. Just dump it when the rain is done. Alittle spendy but is well made and beautiful

The copper stand and aesthetic are excellent. The foam float that lifts the plexiglass tube within the copper sleeve is too small for the tube. It therefore floats in the plexiglass and will not lift the tube to show rain amounts. The seller offered to allow me to purchase a 25 dollar replacement with two foams for a newly purchased device. I can likely create a fix but it is substandard for the price of the device which as new does not perform the function for which it was purchased. Be careful here. It is a pretty garden ornament however.

The title says it all. This is a very simple but quality piece of equipment that would look good in any garden or outside of any front door. There is no excess of parts, and unlike others we have tried, there is no glass to break. Fun and functional!
