I was encouraged to purchase these by my regular timmer. They work wonderful for getting into those small places like the collateral groove and center sulcus. A great addition to your regular trim tools but very helpful if you struggle with a loop hoof knife or have small hands and need nippers with shorter handles (the concave clippers work great as well).

You can oil them with camellia seed oil to protect them from rust. It seems to be made with a lot of pride and very smooth movements. I would not leave them outside or wet for long at all. They have a stainless line as well if that bothers you. I am 1OO% happy with these. I did some heavy pruning with them on my Fukien tea tree in the image.

These were purchased for my son as a gift. He has recently started the hobby of bonsai . He was extremely happy to receive these and requested only this company to order from. I had a question, and they responded within 24 hours. I know we will be making more purchases from this company.

Very good quality for the price. Very sharp & the blades actually meet/touch perfectly not like the cheaper set I bought there's a gap in the tip.

Bought this for my Bonsai trees. It is a professional grade tool and works very well to remove larger branches close to the tree trunk. I also have their sheers for smaller pruning and it is also a quality tool. Some reviewers complain that the tools rust. That is because they are tool steel, not stainless steel. Cutting tools are not made from stainless as it won't hold a sharp edge. Here is the solution to this problem, after every use put one drop of light oil on one of the blades than wipe all blade surfaces with your fingers to spread the oil. Also do not leave these precision tools in an un-airconditioned space such as a garage where the high humidity will eventually ruin them. I put mine back in the boxes they came in and keep them inside the house.

These are very sharp handy little nippers. I use them to trim the frog flaps on my horse's hooves. Works better than my hoof knife to remove the any excess frog covering the collateral grooves near the heel.

I use these for trimming frogs on my mini donkey where I don’t necessarily have to use a hoof knife. They work really well but wish they were more elongated to reach further into collateral grooves for tidying up small pieces of the frog. Exceptional quality.

Regular pruners are fine for the majority of gardening cuts, but they can't get close enough to make a flush cut on bonsai. However, these can. While not truly concave cutters, since they are flat-faced as opposed to curved, they do make an inward cut on most branches and roots that comes out nice and clean. They feel very solid in the hand, and come pre-oiled, wrapped in plastic, and placed in a nice presentation box that is perfect for giving as a gift. The only negative with these cutters is that they are not stainless steel. I knew that when buying them, and I'm OK with it because I'm a neat freak when it comes to all my tools anyway. If you get these cutters wet and don't dry them soon after, the uncoated steel surfaces WILL develop rust. After every use, I rinse them under running water, wipe with a dry cloth, then spritz with a little WD-40. If you do get some surface rust, just buff it out with 220 grit sandpaper and you're good to go.These cutters are well worth the money, and I know they will last me for decades to come. Wazakura has definitely earned a customer here, and I plan to buy some of their other bonsai tools soon.
