These Watris Veiyi 5PCS Counterbore Drill Bit Set are short-shaft models, perfect for my small-scale projects. They run true, cut smoothly, and like any machined hole, leave an aperture that needs to be chamfered after counterboring.Some recommendations: Drill your to-be-counterbored hole a half-millimeter or so less than the final diameter, to give the counterbores a hole that will keep them aligned while cutting the counterbore. Drill the final bore diameter for the bolt shaft after counterboring. Keep your speeds down, feed steady and smooth, and lube with a product like AnchorLube or another thick product that will cling to the cutters and the workpiece. As noted, I've only worked in aluminum. YMMV in steel, cast iron, harder ferrous alloys, or titanium.

I read a review that these were pretty short and they were correct. The lengths range from 50 - 68mm but if you are using a mill or drill press where you can adjust the distance between the chuck and table, these work great. The cut clean and accurate holes in my aluminum plate. Just make sure to set your depth gauge so you don't counter bore all they way through.

These may be long enough for me to do what I need to. But way smaller then I imagined. Hopefully pics save someone from buying where this tiny length would not be appropriate.
