I order multiple units out of fear they will discontinue it. Has been a a big help on many projects, making them a little easier. Also good for ‘emergency repairs’.

I used the Steam-A-Seam 2 double stick to hem some curtains in my living room as I have no patience for sewing. It took me maybe a total of 20 minutes to do including pinning to where I wanted them hemmed and ironing the hem. You don't have to sit there with the iron over the tape for eternity, it adhered pretty quickly. All I had to use was one long piece along the top of the hem and a short piece at each end where i rolled the fabric up. I was nervous that there may be wrinkles where the tape is as it is lighter fabric, but that didn't happen. I was lazy and just folded the original hem up 2 times instead of cutting and was worried again, figuring I'd pay for my laziness and it wouldn't stick, but it actually worked out and stuck through 3 layers of fabric. Like I said before, this is a thinner fabric, so it may not work as well with a thicker fabric. I still had plenty left over after this "project" and was actually a little disappointed that I couldn't find anything else in my home that could use some hemming! Would highly recommend this to anyone, especially those who dislike sewing.

While you CAN use this to finish hems all on their own, it is INVALUABLE as an aid to help stabilize seams and hems with tricky fabric. My fave application is with knits - it helps stabilize the edge and hold the seam in place so you can get a very stable, professional look to your seams. I use the 1/2" and 1/4", apply to seam, iron on, and then stitch my hem - either with singe or double needle. You can do the same thing with slinky fabrics like silk or satin, as they tend to shift and stretch when sewing. :-)
