We only had a small hole left from our previous thermostat, so this was way larger than we needed. That's weird, but it does the job, so it's alright. We got our Nest thermostat in late 2024, which seems to be the "2020" version (or generation 4?).There weren't any screws with ours, so you might need your own for attaching it to the wall.Otherwise, it was fairly easy to install and we're happy that's done!

When I upgraded my old-fashioned thermostat, there were some giant and unattractive holes after installing the new one. I just lived with it for the last couple of years without fixing it on my “someday” repair list. I probably never would have fixed it. So when I saw this plate, I knew that I had to have it. I had no idea something like this even existed.Anyway, I was happy with the white plastic, and it was very simple to install in just a few minutes. However, I thought it looked odd paired with my grey device. It did not match the vision I have for the space (that beige is gone very soon) , so I got a little creative and covered it with a black wood grain adhesive film. Dare I say it looks so much better than I even thought it would! It actually looks kind of stylish. The only issue I have with this product is the condition it arrived in. No blemishes on the actual plate, but it was clearly used. The box was torn up. But I still love it.

This wall plate is a perfect fit with the Nest thermostat it was designed to fit. I have two of the Nest thermostats and the other one has the Google branded cover plate and it is inferior to this one. The Google branded plate edges don’t bend into the wall like this one but instead they bend away from the wall. Weird look!I guess the thought is it makes wall painting easier but it looks odd and everyone thinks I put that cover plate on backwards. This plate fits perfectly and no one comments to me that it is installed backwards.

My 3rd gen Google Nest thermostat failed so I got the next level down version. I wasn’t using the remote WiFi capabilities of the 3rd gen anyway. But it did come with its trim plate. But the new one didn’t. Oh well, I thought, I’ll just use the trim plate I have already. Uh, that no work. The two thermostats use quite different wall plates. So I got this, unscrewed the plate that didn’t fit. Screwed this one in plugged in the thermostat and that was that. Easy peasy

I recently installed the Nest Thermostat Trim Kit for my 2020 Nest Thermostat, and I’m impressed with its performance. It fit perfectly, covering any holes or imperfections left by the previous thermostat, and seamlessly aligned with the wall—no painting or caulking needed. The installation was quick and easy, taking just a few minutes with no extra steps required. Made from durable polycarbonate, it resists fingerprints and looks great even after a few weeks of use. Overall, this trim kit enhances the appearance of my thermostat and is a must-have for anyone with a 2020 Nest Thermostat.

Wall Plate Cover Trim Kit Compatible with Google Nest Thermostat, November 2024I've got a bad thermostat and decided to have it replaced with a Nest thermostat. This faceplate is perfect for hiding the ugly wall left behind by the previous, much larger and rectangular, thermostat. It matches the Nest well and installs easily at the same time as the thermostat.
