The forged alloy grab hooks feature a heat treated load pin with a retaining cotter pin so they stay attached to the ends of your chain, but can also be removed if needed.   • PROPERLY RATED WITH YOUR SAFETY IN MIND - This heavy duty chain has a 7,100 lbs. Safe Working Load and is intended for use with a load binder that has at least the same load rating. The rating is based on a 4:1 safety factor. 4:1 is the correct safety factor, recommended by the NACM, and our chains are always rated properly. BEWARE: some other suppliers on the market do not rate their chains at a full 4:1 safety factor, which is not safe and can be very misleading to the user.
  • SAFE AND COMPLIANT - The safe working load of 7,100 lbs. corresponds with the embossed code on the chain links and the markings on both of the hooks. All Vulcan cargo control products meet all CVSA, DOT and OSHA specifications, and comply with NACM recommendations. Not the chain's fault - but I found locks that fit other 3/8" chains not to fit this one (yes, I understand that's not the use case and why I'm not dinging the chain for it) but the links on this chain might be heavier / less space on the interior of the chain link then you might expect.

I do not need this in my off road recovery kit but there is always that one time when you can’t use a strap and you need a chain. It’s just in case insurance that takes up less space than a strap but weighs over 20 pounds. I bought this from Amazon discounted “damaged”. It’s chain! The box went through a disaster but the chain is good. Keep a eye out for another “damaged” one and get it.

The headline says it. The chains and hooks are fine. The fact I have only received three of the four is dumb. And no tracking information is available from Amazon. I have given this circus enough time to deliver the last box. Time to start a return. My patience only runs so far.

Bought it for pulling with my tractor. Can pull anything my tractor can (90 hp). This thing is heavy to pick up and move around. I'm probably going to buy a 3/8" for easier use in moving it around.This is a great chain if you really need this much chain.

10x better than the average chain. Quality and construction was visibly noticeable. I have no doubt this will be the only brand I would buy my chains from. The price is a little higher than other chains found on the market but I wouldn’t risk buying one that’s cheaper to have it break and then come back and buy this one. Will last for years and years! Thanks Vulcan for producing such a great product.Plus the color is bad ass too and stands out!
