The VPU and internal microphone can easily be connected via the Electronic Communication Port (ECP) on the mask. The VPU must be used with the Voice Projection Unit Microphone or Microphone Assembly.

Great VPU, very clear voice quality, better than the FM53 Gen-1 VPU.This VPU uses your gas mask's internal microphone instead of a cellophane diaphragm.Takes two standard AAA batteries.No tools required, but your gas mask must have the little microphone installed.
