This carpenter square is incredibly well made! It feels solid and heavy in hand—in a good way—like a tool that’s built to last. I love that it’s made of aluminum so I don’t have to worry about rust like with steel versions. The numbers are crisp and easy to read, and the built-in level is such a useful addition for quick checks on the fly. The locking knob is nice and large, making it super easy to adjust and tighten even with gloves on. Bonus points for the built-in scribe, which is a game-changer when you need to mark measurements quickly. Overall, this is a thoughtfully designed and super functional tool that deserves a spot in every toolbox.

These tools are perhaps loosely modeled after the famous brand that all the YouTube woodworkers have hanging behind them in their videos. Two of those tools, that are half the size of these ones, come out to a few pennies shy of $200. So I feel these are a fantastic value. I checked them for square with a machinist's square - all good. Clear laser etched markings, and the rule for the combination square is full thickness, not the thin and floppy cheap ones you can find all over the place these days. I am very favorably impressed with these tools, and when you factor in the value for money, I can recommend them without question or concern.

I was surprised at how nice this square set was when it arrived. It is one of the best that I have owned.The rafter square has a good weight, does not shift and is easy to read with bright white on black markings.The combination square is easily adjustable with distinct and reliable markings on both sides. I can already see that this will be one of my common go-to tools.5 stars for meeting (or exceeding) expectations.

I’ve reviewed a bunch of measuring tools, but this combination square and rafter square are some of the best I’ve encountered. They are pro-quality measuring tools.The well-designed combination square is a top-notch tool, manufactured with high-quality materials, like a stainless steel blade and a brass screw for the scribe. The good-sized square head has been well machined with smooth edges and an excellent anodized finish. I like the large locking nut and the large easy-to-see magnified level. The blade’s engraved scale markings are distinct and easy to see. The blade’s position is easily adjustable. The square feels good and solid in the hand.I also like the dual metric and inch scales on both sides of the blade. The inch scale on one side of the blade is marked in 1/32” and the other side is marked in 1/16”. It’s interesting that the 1/16” scale increases from right to left rather than the traditional method of left to right(see attached photos). I can see that this different method could be very useful for some applications.The rafters/carpenter square is also top-notch. The square is substantial with a thick body and a nearly 1” wide fence. The body has been well machined with very clear, distinct white-on-black scale markings. The powder coating is excellent with a smooth finish. Although the square is relatively heavy, it feels good and solid in the hand.Compared to other available rafter squares, this one has an abundance of scales. Also, there are indents for many of the scale’s graduations, which makes it very easy to mark a measurement.Very highly recommended!

This VNW CNC-machined aluminum set is highly reliable, well-built, and ready for years of DIY use. It is quite rugged and perfect for refinishing furniture, wainscoting, and various DIY projects. The markings are easy to read, as they are laser-etched and scaled well for quick visual reference. The design is well thought out. The 7-inch rafter square doubles as a protractor and saw guide, while the 12-inch combo square features a bubble level, depth scraper, and a smooth sliding head. These tools are built to last through refinishing projects and are not just a junk drawer purchase.I’ve used more measuring tools than I can count, and everything about this set feels right in your hand. The 12-inch square glides easily and locks into place. While it could benefit from deeper notch lines for more specific scribing, it will more than suffice for 95% of DIY home projects. I’ve paid more for far less. This one earns a permanent spot on my workbench. Rating: 4.5 out of 5 stars

VNW 7inch Rafter Square and 12inch Combination Square Set --- This is a great quality set of squares. The speed square has a solid anodized aluminum fence with easy to read white on black markings and the combination square is solid anodized aluminum with stainless ruler blade.Both are top notch tools, heavy duty and perfectly machined. I don't have any high dollar measuring tools for reference but the measurements marked out on these agreed with both my Fastcap and Stanley Fat Max tape measures.They refer to the speed square as a rafter square as it commonly is but a good speed aka "rafter" square is priceless in a woodshop too. The combination square's usefulness goes with out saying, as its a given must in any woodshop. The added heft of the thick aluminum construction on these make them really nice to work with as it adds stability in using them both. Super nice tools and a great value price. Glad to have them both -- 5-Stars Easy.
