This is a very useful attachment to use with your drill. The shears are very sharp and the tool is well constructed and quite robust. It makes quick work of cutting sheet metal leaving a clean edge with very few burs. It is ideal to use with a cordless drill for small jobs. I have an air nibbler for cutting metal roofing but for small jobs you won’t need to drag out air hoses and air compressor or have to worry about finding a power outlet close to your work. It’s a great tool to have in your tool chest. It’s easy to use and stores away in a small space. It’s the perfect cutting tool for cutting metal out in the field where there is no electricity. All you need is a good cordless drill.

The VLOXO Drill Metal Shear Attachment is well made and much more solid than i expected. It has cut sheet metal with easy using a Makita drill driver to power it. Really the only issue is you need 2 hands to use the cutter so pretty much must secure the sheet metal or have a helper when cutting. Overall it is much more useful and sturdy than I expected.

since this tool is hanging off the front of a drill and has a handle, you need one hand to hold that handle to control the shears and another hand to hold the drill and pull the trigger.that leaves your third hand to hold the workpiece if it's not clamped down or large enough to stay put under it's own weight.the tool does cut thin metal pretty well, and I got it for cutting some metal duct. In this case, I left my third hand upstairs so I made do with holding the test piece with my feet.I used the cheapest cordless drill I had as the power source, and it had no problems driving these shears.I also tested on an old side panel from a gas range, and the shears easily cut that material as well.if you needed to make frequent cuts though, I'd opt for a tool that could be used with one hand.

This cutter is very well made. It seems to be very heavy duty. The cuts are not too aggressive, it does not take a full bite. The cut surface is from the middle of the blade to the back, so there is good leverage on the cuts. The blades are nice and thick so you don't have to worry about bending them. It is very easy to use as long as you have help. The handle is a must for this tool, so you will need both hands on the tool/drill while using it. This means you will need another person or clamps to hold the material being cut.

This certainly added a whole new array of tasks that can be accomplished with my trusted impact drill. Now it's not for the precise work, let's be clear. But for the job of cutting through metal sheets or even wires this will get the job done with the steel blade cutter.

This review is for VLOXO Drill Metal Shear Attachment, Shear Metal Cutter with 360-Degree Pivoting Head, $30.59 on amazon.When I ordered this tool I was figuring it was just a gimmick. But it’s actually a well built, very robust practical tool. When connected to my Dewalt cordless 20 volt drill it worked very well. I nibbled away at a sheet of 1/16” thick plastic. It cut cleanly and was easy to steer. It comes with a nice screw-on handle that makes holding and guiding it very easy. The individual cut length per stroke is not very great but its speed (depending upon the speed of the cordless drill) makes up for that.This would be a helpful tool when cutting long lengths of aluminum flashing instead of using a handheld pair of tin snips which would be time consuming and hand-cramping.

Impressions:-This is a good value for a good quality attachment to cut, trim and shear metal and other materials with your own (not included) powered device.Pros:-Good value for the quality and style.-Good quality, sturdy and well made.-Made to fit most standard powered devices with a hexagonal connector.-Material cutting compatibility: (see the listing pictures for a chart)Rated for punched sheet metal, 201 & 304 stainless steel, PVC plastic, wire, copper, iron sheet, iron mesh, aluminum plate, stainless steel mesh, iron wire, siding, flashing, vinyl.-Chrome vanadium steel blades.-Plastic handle included for easier use and handling. Handle can be rotated and adjusted in position.Cons:-Storage case or bag:No storage bag or case is included, you’ll need to provide your own.Tips:-Assembly required:You will have to put this together with some minor assembly, but it’s quick and easy. You have to attach the pieces together, they aren’t pre-assembled.-Opening it:Be very careful when both handling it and opening this from the carton. I’d suggest opening it from the under side base vs top of the carton. The tip of the cutters are very sharp, and when you open from the top as I initially did, you come a bit close to the cutter edge as you open it. I ended up opening it from the underside as it was easier and safer. You also will find the instructions are beneath it in the lower base vs top of the carton. It’s easy to miss them if you open from the top vs underside base of the carton-Use eye protection:Be sure and use proper eye protection safety glasses or goggles during use (not included).-Be careful picking it up:I found that after assembling it, if you try to pick it up from the plastic handle it shifts a bit. Always pick it up carefully.-Be careful, it’s very sharp:Always use care during use and handling as it’s a very sharp, very powerful cutter.-Use Tips & Instructions:While instructions are included, I’d also suggest referring to, printing or saving the listing instructions and pictures as some use tips are included there as well.Thoughts:-No powered device included:No powered device to use with it is included, you’ll need to have your own standard compatible powered device to use with it. It should be compatible with most devices.-Compatibility:Be sure it’s compatible with the material and materials thickness you want to use it with. There is a chart in the listing pictures that shows both the materials and the thickness in each material that it’s compatible with. It does seem to vary by the material the thickness it can handle. It ranges from 0.5 mm (201 stainless steel) to 2.6 mm (PVC plastic).
