I read the reviews and decided to get this prior to bunionectomy. As others pointed out, it's important to walk slowly with the shoe out in front to avoid tripping. I did very well with this shoe and never felt pain walking in it. Once the dressing came off, I put a foam pad under the ball of foot to keep the pressure off the sesamoid bone and avoid pain. I used it for a month and it held up great. I highly recommend it.

The description and image is misleading! This would be great if I wanted my leg to be angled out in front of me. When wearing this, standing with straight legs, this shoe is very uncomfortable. It felt as though my foot were on a see-saw, and all of the pressure was diffected specifically to the center of my foot! It appeared to be a large heel with the front half of the foot bot getting any pressure, but that is not how it fits at all.

This item is not something that will last for a long period of time because the stitching will come apart, and this picture will show what will happen; however, the shoe does what it is meant to do and that is to keep the foot flat or the toes from bending and without putting my foot/leg into a boot, this is the next best thing.

I was allowed weight bearing six weeks post surgery. I started having immense pain in the toe area like someone driving a nail through my foot. I found this shoe on Amazon and ordered it. Afterward I asked my podiatrist about it and he advised against this type of shoe saying he felt they were a fall risk. I had already fallen 4 times using the shoe they gave me after my surgery. I got this new shoe and love it. You do need to get used to walking it it but it actually feels very stable to me. It really takes the stress off of my toes. I feel it grips the floor better also.

I've been wearing this shoe on a daily basis for about six weeks. It's held up very well with no visible wear or damage. The shoe is very adjustable using the velcro straps. I like that the main strap over the foot can be completely removed and replaced so that a wide range of swelling can be addressed. The only negative is that the sole is a hard plastic. Great for low wear, but somewhat slippery on hard surfaces. Given my post-surgery walking speed, this isn't a big issue.

Purchased this on recommendation from my doctor's nurse. Had bunion surgery and after a week witha boot, transferred happily to this product. Felt free to walk easily. Kept my front of feet off the groundwith pressure on my heel. Made me extremely happy. Recommend this product.

I tore a tendon in my second toe, so it’s really awkward because I put all my weight on it when walking but it’s hard to find things that support it since it’s not the big toe. I tried doing it myself with bandages but it just got worse.This did the job!It basically stops you from putting ANY weight on your toes and stops them from bending AT ALL.Takes some getting used to but it is very sturdy. I even played golf in it. Great quality!

I bought the "Vive Offloading Post-Op Shoe - Forefront Wedge Boot for Broken Toe Injury" to try and offload pressure on a metatarsal stress fracture in my foot. I wore a Cam boot for 8 weeks but the rolling motion of the boot still put some pressure on the forefoot. The Vive shoe definitely takes the pressure off of the forefoot BUT it is very uncomfortable to walk. You have to shorten your stride so the front of the shoe doesn't touch the ground. It will also stretch your calves and hip since your balance is thrown off.Bottom line: the shoe does what it is supposed to do - remove pressure from your forefoot. But don't expect to walk in this like a Cam boot. It is good for short hops around the house only.

Delivery was quick and easy, as usual. This boot is comfortable and easy to slide in & out of.I have an infection in my foot and walking was very painful - now I can at least get my dog out for some relief.
