I thought I'd try these violin strings as the price is much more reasonable than the strings I regularly use. These strings have a much harsher sound than my regular strings. They would probably be adequate for someone just learning to play. I guess you get what you pay for....at least in violin strings.

The strings arrived quickly and were easy to replace the older strings. They were a great value. Quality!

Picked these strings up for a 3d printed violin project, and they worked perfectly! I'm not a string player by trade, so I'm not sure how they compare to any other strings out there, or whether they're closer to a student or professional quality level. They worked for my use, though, and that's all that matters to me. Any other makers looking to print a violin: these work just fine!

Excelentes cuerdas tienen un sonido muy dulce y para un aprendiz quedan maravillosas, me encantaron.

They are great strings but a little false advertising since they do not come with an extra string

These Violin Strings 4/4 Full Set, Medium Tension - Solid Steel Core, Warm Tone, are a good investment, especially if you're keeping fresh strings on board (which, with the squawk factor of a fiddle/violin, is a pretty good investment for your ears).Easy on, fit just fine, and offered a nice freshening up to the tone of my violin.I have more experience with guitar strings (have only been sawing at my violin since Fall 2023), and I know with the guitar, there'sA) Little bit of adjustment time for strings to settle in at homeB) A lot of brightness in new strings that you don't realize you're missing in your old strings, unless you're OCD about changing them regularly, and I'm not).C) Incentive to get new strings on and established, because you sound less like your neighbor's 9 year old and more like Eric Clapton (well, mostly). To some degree, all that translates to the violin as well, although I admit I'm still learning.NOTE - getting really good rosin really seemed to make the difference, too, so get these budget-friendly strings and keep a spare around, get some good rosin, and ditch the earplugs.Worth the investment!

Our daughter will spend a year overseas and we got these so she has a spare set to take with her. We don't want to replace her existing ones yet, but we did take them out and they are smooth with wrapping on both ends like the current ones. They seem to be at least decent quality. These could be worth five stars but we won't know until we put them on.

I ordered this Prelude Violin String Set as the last items that I required to begin a restoration effort on my fathers old violin. He was born in 1908 and obtained this violin used when he was about 18 years old. These strings will be a critical part of that restoration. From what I have read regarding string materials and construction these will provide the life and tone which this instrument requires to sing again. I will note that I was disappointed that the full description in the Amazon listing was for a Violin Tuner Unit, not these strings. I expect that will be rectified soon as high quality strings , materials and construction need to be understood. The story continues if you are interested.. read on. He was born in 1908 and obtained this violin used when he was about 18 years old. Although professional training was limited he participated by playing for dances in the community and church settings. As his family grew and he got older those opportunities diminished and ended. I remember him playing a few times at home but memories don't last. Unfortunately, over the intervening years before his passing this violin was played, used and unconsciously abused by grandchildren and great-grandchildren who neither appreciated the instrument nor it's origins, nor the part which it played in their parents and grandparents lives. Now, after many years of sitting I am going to bring it back to at least a playable condition for our upcoming Family Reunion, the one that usually brings 150 or more of his direct and married in descendants. I will need to ask one of the grandchildren to make it speak, because I do not play and it will be given life in the hands of a younger master.
