I hope you have 2-4 hours to dedicate to putting this together! The instructions are a joke. Two people trying to read and follow the instructions provided and it took close to 4 hours to get it all together and in the pool. Finally found a video on youtube which helped 100%. Once together, the top rail is VERY flimsy. There are not enough holes to allow water into the ladder to keep it down in the water. It was suggested to put rocks into the ladder. SO go spend more money for that. We chose to drill more holes to allow more water into the ladder which did the trick. This design, the top rail is very wide, meaning the top rail design comes over and forward so wide it takes up a lot of deck. Overall I would not recommend this ladder to ANYONE!

I am disabled and needed a different way to get into our above ground pool. I ordered these because they had the best combination of positive reviews and price. They came quickly but we discovered that they sent two left sides instead of a right and left side. I emailed the company and within a week they sent the correct part. The stairs themselves are great. My husband had little or no trouble putting them together. The railings are flimsy though, I wouldn't want to rely on them. Overall a good product and a company that wasted no time correcting their mistake!

Unit was very easy to install. Directions were decent. There were a lot of photos to clarify steps. I drilled the 1/4 inch holes the instructions suggested and the treads and risers filled with water very fast. The instructions said to add 10 to 15 pounds of clean gravel to each stringer. I added 30 pounds of sand in each and there was plenty of room for more. With the 60 pounds the ladder does not move at all. Adding sand was tedious the holes are small. I used a funnel and a gallon bucket to add sand it took a while but worth the effort. The only issue I had was the rear deck flanges. The directions say to drill a 5/16 hole and use a 3/4 bolt nut and washer to secure the upper rail to the flange. The washers are too big to fit into the area where the bolt goes. I installed without the washers and next time I am at the hardware store I will see if I can find some with a smaller outside diameter. The upper rails flex a bit but not nearly as bad as the A frame ladder I had prior. I think metal rails for the top would be better.

I read a lot of reviews on this. It was not easy to assemble. I used a heat gun and it was still really hard for one person to bend the steps. They did finally go together though. The instructions were confusing. I'm still not sure that I drilled the holes in the right place. I filled it with 50lbs of sand and dumped it into the pool. Without the sand it will float even with holes drilled in it. Once it sinks the parts underwater seem sturdy. The hand rails will flap around if you touch them. They are very lightweight plastic. I pray they will last through the season. I don't know what I can do to sturdy them up. I think if we're careful they will work, but for the cost it definitely feels pretty cheap.

Works very well in our above ground pool. The metal ladders kept rusting out and just didn’t give my husband and I a sturdy feeling. This one was fairly easy to assemble and seems to be fine walking up and down. The rails are a bit weak and wobbly but maybe it’s because the plastic? Either way, decent product for price.

We bought this to replace the A frame ladder that came with our pool after we built a wrap around deck and could no longer use the ladder that goes inside and outside the pool. As with all of my pool purchases I read a lot of reviews before I buy anything because it is sooo expensive for pool stuff and sometimes it's still junk. I would agree with other reviewers that it was a bit of work to put it together, but certainly less difficult that the ladder that came with the pool. Anybody could probably do it. My husband put it together inside - don't do this it left little plastic shavings everywhere. We had to trim the arms to get them to fit but the instructions tell you to do this so you will need a saw. I was hesitant to drill holes in my resin top ledge, but there is no way it would be sturdy without doing this. Holes were easy to make and doesn't seem to bother the pool much. My husband is 6'3" and almost 300 lbs - didn't budge when he gets in or out. He did drill a couple holes in the inside where nobody could see them to fill it with water. Like another reviewer said, it still wants to float but just barely. This actually takes up less space than the A ladder we had been using that came with the pool. And it was scary getting in and out because it would wobble side to side. If I had to dig deep and find anything I don't like so far - I don't really care for the hole in the middle where the light can go. I wish there was a piece there you had to pop out if you were going to use the light. We went with a return fitting light (you can read my review on that too - LOVE IT!). But honestly it's not that noticeable. One thing worth noting, there's a circle notch on the outside of each of the arms outside of the pool. I have no idea what these are for. Maybe to hang a sign that says "pool closed?" or something across the ladder arms? Not sure but the instructions don't say anywhere what these are for. Overall very pleased, would buy again.
