I got this for a costume that needed a boa. Normally, boas are made of feathers. But I am very allergic to feathers so this is a wonderful alternative. I think it looks so much more elegant than a feather boa. Also -- if you are vegan, this boa is perfect as no birds were harmed

This wrap is surprisingly beautiful. It is a very full looking material and it would be similar in appearance to a full feather boa. It is very lightweight.I wasn't sure how it was going to work with the single seam down the middle and if it would show. However, it's actually difficult to find the seam (shown in photo) and you can wrap it around your shoulders and not even notice it.Because it's organza material, it naturally holds heat and because it is reasonably thick, it would keep the chill off using it as a wrap.It is also quite long so you could wrap like a scarf as well.

I ordered this Vijiv Flapper Boa Costume - 6.3ft Gatsby Organza Boas Wedding Shawl Wraps 1920s Accessories for Women Evening chiffon boa to add to my family’s costume collection, but I like it so much, I think I may wear it as a wrap sometimes.I’ve always loved feather boas, but they keep getting cheaper and flimsier. I gave up on them some years back, the never lasted very long, and the feathers shed all over the place. I love the look, though, so I was interested when I saw this fabric boa.This boa is made of a lightweight, dark red fabric. The sales page calls it tulle and organza. I’m not sure it’s exactly either. I called it chiffon earlier in the review, but it. Isn’t quite that either. I’m not a fashion expert, so I’ll just do my best to describe the fabric. It’s a manmade synthetic of some sort, semi-translucent. It has a little bit of body to it, it isn’t as light as a tulle, but it is still a fairly light fabric.This fabric is gathered and ruffled into a 6’ long boa, about 3” wide. The dark red color is vibrant, and the boa definitely gives any outfit a bit of a “wow”. Like I said, I got it for our family costume collection. I have a great black and gold flapper dress I thought this would pair with—they look wonderful together.But this is actually pretty nice. It isn’t just an inexpensive costume piece. I can imagine wearing this over a plain black shift dress, it would look really cool. It’s too hot for jackets now, but come fall, this would be great as a scarf, worn over a black blazer.The sales page suggests wearing it as a wrap, I’m not sure it would be warm enough. But as an extra layer to add some pizazz to an outfit, it’s ideal.At the current price ($22.76) this is a whole lot of style for not much money. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this boa, I expected it would be fairly light and flimsy. Instead, it’s good and long, and the fabric is sturdier than I expected. The ruffled boa has a great Roaring Twenties feel, old school style with a modern twist. I love the deep red color and the updated boa made with ruffled fabric instead of feathers.

This boa is full, lush and beautiful. The fabric is lightweight with a shimmery metallic finish to one side that adds multicolor dimension. Adds some warmth over my skimpy flapper dress for evening comfort. A bit spendy but a lovely addition to an outfit if you can afford it!

My wife says, "I selected this specifically for a Rocky Horror Picture Show Janet Floorshow costume and was thrilled. It looks great and I got lots of compliments for my costume. It balls up nicely into a tiny bag, but comes out full and fluffy. Unlike feather boas, NO SHEDDING!!! This just felt glamorous to wear. I'm delighted."

It is pretty, but the purple is not very purple - y as shown in the photo. My husband thought it was black. It is very, very dark.
