This microphone sounds great. I used it for a video I created. It made my voice sound better than using the default mic on the camera. This mic will be used more when I am filming away from my normal areas.

Finding a microphone for a camcorder sucks. This is one of the few that worked with my Canon. It needs more setting, its either on and picks up a ton of background noise or completely off. I can fix it, but it takes video editing software.

This thing works great for an external Camcorder mic. The cord length is ample so you don't have to be right on top of the camera. The only improvement could be if the mic had some sort of volume control built in becuae there's no way to adjust the input on our particular camera. We solved the issue, however, by adding a Volbox inline audio volume control, which just plugs in inline.

This price can't be beat. I've used it on my Canon camera and on my smartphone. The quality is good with some heavier metal parts making it feel professional. The cord is ample for recording attached to the camera it's self or in pocket through phone. A sturdy clip for lapels and waist, for mic and battery respectfully, and you're ready to go with this solid mic setup!

The Lavalier condenser microphone does not work with Canon vixia Hf r800 as advertised.
