TECHNICALLY I'm not using this on a hard floor. I have two VERY thick clear carpet mats for my chair, and they're AWFUL aesthetically. I bought this to go over the top of them, and it fits PERFECT. It's made out of quality vinyl, it won't slip on ceramic, but on my setup I DID tape them down, as it comes tightly curled, and is going to take a while to straighten. It's not too thick, which in my case is good.... they want me to talk about scratch resistance, but all I can think of is "this will protect your FLOOR from scratches? I mean, this thing is gonna scuff. .... though if I look at it, it's been there for 3 days and hasn't scuffed yet. Aesthetically it's black vinyl, it's shiny, and it has that rainbow holographic effect that some people may find distasteful. My office decor is gunmetal and black, with the occasional white highlight, so it actually complements the setup.I don't know that I'd get this to use it on it's own. I had a specific use case for this, and it came in clutch. If I were in an all hardwood building though? You could do a lot worse than this.

We needed a mat for our gaming room with hardwood floors. We needed something large enough to cover the large area around the desk.The mat arrived fast and was easy to lay out. It was in good condition and seems well made. The pattern on the mat is different than regular floor mats, with shiny square patterns that almost jump out at you. It’s made of some plastic but seems durable even though not thick. The instructions say to put something heavy on each corner for a while to train the mat to lay flat.We’ve had it a few days and already used a lot. It’s easy for chair to roll on, much better than a hardwood floor. Energy drink spills have been easy to clean. Assume because it’s a deep/shiny black it hides any stains were unable to treat.The only reason for a missing star is 2 small reasons:We ordered the size 60x46 and what we received doesn’t cover that much area.The mat isn’t thick at all. I expected it to be a little thicker or a little cushion to it but it’s pretty thin and definitely not anymore comfortable than standing on bare floor.I’m not sure why this mat is labeled a “gaming mat” except for the unique pattern on it. But I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for something different from the standard chair mat. The mat so far has definitely done what it’s designed for.

Love the mat! Easy to keep clean. Worth the money, and easy for the chair to roll. Highly recommend.

I really like this hardwood floor mat. After trying several other mats (clear plastic ones, fabric ones, etc.), I think this might be what I've been looking for (and needing) - and it looks great to boot! This is one of the thickest floor mats I've seen/owned. When it initially arrived, it was rolled really tight for transport. Once I laid it flat on the floor and allowed it to sit for about 48 hours at room temp, the corners leveled out, and now it lays perfectly flat on my hardwood floor. Rolling around in my chair is easy peasy on this mat... I glide from side to side, front to back with ease. Much (much) better than the fabric floor mat this replaced. The mat has no smell, is incredibly durable, and offers great floor protection. I like this hardwood floor mat's sleek black design/look. It's definitely unique. Given the material that it's made from, it not only provides protection from the wheels of my chair, but it's also waterproof - adding another layer of protection. The back of the mat is not sticky, but it won't slide (at all) on the hardwood floor. I believe it's silicone or something similar, making the backing stay in place once laid on the floor. You can easily pick it up and position it where you want it, but when it's lying on the floor, you can't "scoot" or push it into place like you can other floor mats. Once you position this one where you want it, it's not going anywhere... This is truly the best hardwood floor mat I've seen/owned to date (after many years.) I recommend this hardwood floor mat to anyone looking for a sleek, nice-looking, durable mat. Two thumbs up!
