Used to step-up 120v input to a 120/240 split phase output with a derived center neutral. If you understand this concept, then you know this little gem allows you to run your entire house on a small 120 volt generator as long as you keep the total watts under the generators rating. In my case, (a 3000 sq ft house), all the (LED) lights work, the refrigerator and chest freezer work, the router and broadband work, a couple of laptops, and a 6000 btu inverter window AC, all run simultaneously off of a cheap Harbor Freight 5000 inverter generator. We use this configuration at night during hurricanes in order to stretch fuel and reduce noise. During the day, we run a 20kw liquid-cooled diesel genny, but its just overkill for overnight use.Pay close attention to the wiring and see the Victron diagrams for details. If you have questions, get them answered before you throw the switch.Note: This box does NOT increase watts or make your genny “more powerful” even though a couple of YouTube “experts” claim such things. What this box does is let you use the full output of your 120 volt generator to its maximum, and derive the split-phase 120/240 volt output, and “create” a neutral leg without regard to how imbalanced each hot leg may be.

I run an off grid Ecoflow system using two Delta Pro units and 2 extra batteries for each (total of 6 batteries) and have them all tied together using Ecoflows Double Voltage Hub. From the DVH, everything is then tied directly into our main electrical panel of our home and then feeds all of the circuits that we need to use t/o the day. Before purchasing the Victron Autotransformer, the Ecoflow batteries would be used up at varying rates, depending on what we were using that day. It was very frustrating because one Delta Pro (with its two attached batteries) would deplete much quicker than the other Delta Pro set to where the entire Solar battery system would prematurely shut down because one set was using supplying more power than the other and would shut down first even though the other Delta Pro set might still have 30% - 40% power left (based on what we were using in our house at the time). Installing the Victron Autotransformer fixed the problem. Now, with the Victron installed, it takes over the energy distribution of all six batteries and orchestrates how each one contributes its stored power based on what we are using. Since the contribution across all of the batteries is now more consistent with each other, we can keep running the entire set up until all of the batteries reach their lower level shut down setting of 10% (as set in the Ecoflow app). It has been a game changer for us and well worth the initial investment of ~$450.00. The build quality is great as is the 5 year Victron warranty. The installation was super easy as the official Ecoflow Facebook group has excellent instructions on how to hook the Victron up when using the Ecoflow Double Voltage Hub. After five months of countinued use, it is one of the best investments that we have made and one that I highly recommend.

I would have given this a 5 except for the time I wasted diagnosing a problem with it that should not have happened. After getting it all hooked up, none of the LED indicator lights on its front panel worked, making me think I may have hooked it up wrong, but after rechecking all of the connections, and powering up the two sogens that fed it, everything seemed to work as advertised...except for those LED indicator lights on the front panel of the autotransformer. I contacted the customer service people that Amazon told me would handle the issue, and they were also perplexed, so they contacted Victron, who said it must be a bad LED circuit board. I opened the unit to see how difficult it would be for me to just replace the bad circuit board if they sent it to me, rather than have them me send a whole new autotransformer, with the associated downtime and back n forth shipping of a heavy container. As I looked over the suspect circuit board, and its attachments, I noticed a ribbon cable that went from the main circuit board to the LED board. It was securely attached to the LED board, but as I traced it back, I found even though it looked like it was where it was supposed to be on the main circuit board, it was not securely attached. I got it securely plugged into the main board, fired up the system, and the LED indicating the unit was powered up was glowing green! Victron is a great name in electronics, but someone neglecting to make sure this ribbon cable was locked into it's socket made for several hours of work and frustration on the parts of their customer service reps, as well as me. I was glad it turned out to be something simple that I could take care of myself without incurring the effort on my part, and expense on their part, of removing and returning the entire autotransformer for a replacement.
