Living in Florida I wanted to vent my boat cover. This product was easy to install and works very well. Over the years, this is the second one I have installed. I highly recommend it.

Easy to install on my boat covert, allows air circulation which helps prevent mold and mildew here in Florida. The design doesn’t allow rain in and it match’s well with adjustable aluminum support poles. The poles are not included.

Good fit, grips tightly to the cover to prevent slip and tearing. Works much better than snaps.

A couple of things about this product. I suspect they sell just the head unit for the boat vent because there is a high incidence of the assembly coming apart and falling overboard, necessitating its replacement. That is what happened to me. I theorize that the wind whipping the canvas that these vent poles support eventually caused the vent head, which screws together to sandwich the canvas between two halves to unscrew, and for the top half to be unceremoniously tossed overboard, while the canvas remains supported by the lower half of the vent head. So you don't even suspect there is a problem until you hear the plop of something hitting the water as you are unsnapping the canvas.Second point- because I didn't read the product description at Amazon after I saw the picture of the vent head I needed, I was disappointed when I received the package with the replacement head and saw that it does not come with a replacement telescoping pole. True, I only needed the head assembly, but it's the principle of the thing. My bad...Anyway, this is why I down-voted the value for the money, and for the sturdiness of the product. The manufacturer ought to design a positive locking mechanism so the two halves cannot unintentionally unscrew themselves when the canvas being supported flexes. Otherwise it is an ingenious product, and perfect for the purpose for which it is intended.

I'm using these with and without the support rods to vent various boats and dock sections I'm covering over the winter with heavy duty tarpaulins. They're working really well to prevent mold and mildew on my boats - they open up in spring looking like they were never covered with snow - dry and odor/mold/mildew free. They double as supports and work well there as well - providing a secure grip on the tarps without tearing free even when under a lot of pressure. They're not cheap but you get what you pay for - they're lasting well and doing a great job of venting whatever I put under the tarps.

Added two of these to my pontoon cover as there was previously only two vents and two snaps for the poles...my wife busted one of the snaps so this was a perfect solution and much easier to place the poles upright and tight. Simple install...cut a hole and sandwich the pieces...screw on the wingnut...done! Less than 5 minutes. Glad I did it.These don’t come with a reinforced piece of canvas (that also seconds as a cutout template) like some other vendors provide with this part. Lucky for me, due to the snaps being sewn in...I had a second piece of canvas already. I made my own template by dismantling one of the existing vents and tracing the hole size. Easy.
