I have a few vibrators made by Ambition Motor, and I’ve been happy with all of them. This one is no exception. Although they are designed for a 12V system, you can change the speed by reducing the voltage (or increasing it - at the risk of breaking it. I took mine to 24V for a short period of time). They use a pretty standard however I like cutting the end off and using a “weather pack” connector. I honestly don’t know if there are any issues if you get your positive and negative mixed up, but the SAE connectors are infamous for that.I’ve only bench tested this one so far - taking about 3 A at no load (rated at 10A*), and working down as far as 3V. I’m trying to decide between mounting it on the back of the tractors loader bucket, the snowblower chute (), onto the dump trailer, or to build a personal screener for topsoil and the like. I’ve had no overheating issues in my testing.*On this note - I have noticed a few reviews talking about no instructions - which is true. These are both simple (2 wires and 4 bolt holes?) but also infinitely complex. Vibrators are interesting things, filled with Harmonics. In a lot of cases it’s either trial and error, or some serious engineering - and I’m not sure an instruction manual would help. For instance if you mount this to a salt spreader in the centre it will vibrate totally different than if you picked a sturdy corner. The centre will provide a larger local vibration at a lower frequency, and the stiff corner should shake the whole unit less at a higher frequency. I’ve seen larger units mounted onto dump truck boxes that have destroyed the steel plates they were mounted to within hundreds of hours, or work for years and years. If you don’t fully tighten the bolts you’ll get a different type of vibration again. Regardless, threadlocker is an excellent idea. They use a very good thread locker and after trying to take it apart to see if it could be adjusted (some allow the counterweight to be moved in and out), I wasn’t able to split the case - even with bolts removed - albeit on another model. I damaged the case pretty badly trying, so I’m not going to attempt it with this one, as I really have no need at this point. This one does have an opening in the feet that might pry (wedge/chisel) better (or some heat), but I wouldn’t expect it to be easy. One final thought - they offer a smooth walled version and this version. The claimed advantage to this version is the higher output (Hz) and better heat dissipation, however the drawback is the smooth one is less likely to cake with sand/gravel, snow, mud, etc, especially if you aren’t constantly vibrating. I do like them both. Bolt pattern is 2”x4”x ⅜” holes (51x102x10mm)

Current price point at the time/date of this review: $118.29 with no discount/coupon being offered. Pricing is fair given the build quality and design, however, to be sure cheaper alternatives do exist at the moment.Made of durable and weighted materials, the build quality is good. Design comes in a “safe” black and generally looks fine - this ain’t no fashion show folks.Works pretty much as intended and undergoes the intended task without much fuss. It’s a decent unit and well suited for the application. Installs fine.

This Salt and Sand Vibrator is very helpful for spreading salt using the salter on our JD tractor. What this does is to help the salt not get stuck in the salter so it can spread easily. We have a steepish hill and after a decent snowstorm, or even more so, after a melting thaw and refreeze, it is very helpful to have this vibrator to evenly spread salt over the driveway and parking area instead of having to keep breaking up stuck salt on the sides of the salter.

I got this shaker motor for a gold classifier that I'm building in order to process a lot more material. I've combined this motor with another one to get things moving and they work very well together. the fact that they are driven with 12 volts makes things easier out in the hills and they don't draw a lot of power so should last all day on a deep cell battery. This is a good motor and would perform well for its intended purpose to.
