The title/headline basically says it all. I hooked the cable up when I first got it in October, it died on me yesterday. No idea why. Turned on the monitor and there was no picture. Swapped out the cable and the picture returned. I'm sorry, but a cable that dies after 4 months is not worth the money.Edit 2025-02-28The seller earned an extra star for going through their reviews and reaching out to their customers about issues. It's disappointing that the cable didn't last, but it really speaks volumes that the seller is so considerate. :)

This cable is better than the cheap ones from eBay which will fail on you in no time trust me, but this one you pay a little more without the headache of having to buy another one or to return a cheap one back this is the best cable by far so far.

I find it sometimes difficult to plug old stuff like old vga only servers into new monitors and KVM. This thing works that direction,VGA output on a DisplayPort screen.v most of the readily available adapters in our it shop only can take a modern plug and connect it to an old monitor. This one is the one you want if you have old junk and new monitors. It's not bidirectional but I don't need it to be I just need it to be old to new not the other way around 100% successful. It even puts analog audio and Power in to the new lamented DisplayPort and supports reasonably High resolutions like 2K apparently at 75 Hertz refresh.

Using this in a fairly complicated setup. Computer (VGA) to KVM (Displayport) to monitor (DVI).Had some trouble getting the computer to properly recognize the monitor and provide appropriate sync. Once I got it working, it works well.Happy with it so far.
