Mirrored Displays (Duplicated Content On Both Displays)

The Cable Matters VGA Monitor Y-Splitter Cable is a great solution for duplicating images from a computer to two identical screens. Applications include security monitors, conference room presentations, or video in a house of worship.

Important Notes

  • Connecting a long VGA cable may degrade the video appearance
  • Passive cable only duplicates (does not extend) the PC screen to a monitor

Needed to split a VGA connection between two different locations. Worked fine, no issues. Plugged in longer VGA connectors to get to the screens, worked with no issues.

This splitter works well for my application. I want to display my TV box on two monitors, and this works perfectly. I has to use gender changers for my application, but the signal is good, and I am happy with my purchase. I would purchase these again.

This splitter saw huge quality drop off. If you are looking for something that works despite quality issues then go ahead and get this but you will need something with a built in booster if you really want to maintain quality. I had to replace this thing almost immediately due to its poor image afterwards, everything was flat with blurred colors compared to what the booster was able to accomplish.

Did exactly what we needed: projected one screen to 2.Price is great and quality even better!** I received this item at a discounted rate in exchange for a fair, honest and unbiased review. I only buy products that my family and I will use. I only give a 5 star rating when the product is excellent. I base my review on durability, material, function and if it meets the description given by the seller. If I feel that I can't give at least a 4 or 5 star rating then I contact the seller and try to resolve the problem or explain my difficulty in giving them a really good review. Sometimes I feel like you can only say so many things about the product and my reviews may seem short. I am a straight to the point type of person and don’t like to babble on about every single facet of a product. If you have a specific question, just ask; my response time is incredibly quick! You can be rest assured that my reviews are not only for the sellers benefit but for the consumers looking to purchase said product as well.**

It's very important to realize that this product CAN ONLY BE AS GOOD AS YOUR PC'S GRAPHICS CARD/SETUP.I have a Dell that was built in 2004, so it's pretty old technology. The product is working as expected. Too bad my computer's graphic card is not up to pushing my monitor and my TV at the same time. When they are both hooked up, both screens darken and lose their sharpness. This problem was anticipated as a possibility when I ordered the Y Splitter, after reading the reviews. Also, as reviewers noted, the screws on the splitter are too short to screw into the receiving ends of either the monitor or TV.However, even after reading the reviews, which were mostly positive, I ordered the product anyway.I know that constantly changing out VGA ends on the back of my PC tower is not good for the cheapie little holders that keep the port in place. Therefore, I still feel I ordered the correct product for the price, as I can still keep the male end of the split hooked up to the back of the computer, and I simply only plug either the monitor or the TV into one of the Y ends at a time. Not the best solution to my goal of sitting on the couch and simply choosing the correct input on my TV's menu, but what the heck!It is definitely saving wear and tear to the little VGA output on the back of my PC tower, and when only one output is hooked up at a time, the display is as good as whatever the online source can make it, so all in all, I am satisfied.

The video works well, but the screws were too short. Not a deal breaker for high quality video transmission, and it won't be in danger of becoming unplugged anyway...THIS ITEM was for displaying the same computer video output on two screens, both my monitor and my TV (which has VGA imput, no HDMI).To have my computer audio AND video wired to two different outputs in two different rooms, I needed the following:This VGA splitter (1 male to 2 female) anda 3.5 mini-stereo splitter (1 male to 2 female)which gave me inputs needed for my original pc audio and video cables AND I now have the additional audio and video connections needed to send those signals to my TV.To get the a/v to my tv I also needed:A 35ft VGA cable (which had an integrated 3.5 audio cable ) with all male connectors. It was run from the computer through the floor and under the house and up to the TV.Add a 3.5 mini-stereo adapter (1female to 2 RCA male plugs)Plug the VGA into TV, insert the adapted RCA plugs into TV...Ta-Dah!Now (if you have your computer set for it) you have your TV showing exactly what is on your PC, and volume that can also be changed with the TV remote.Additionally:My computer has Windows Media Center, which can schedule and record like a Tivo if you have a TV tuner, so I bought a usb tuner (for the new ATSC HighDefinition TV signal). I added a great indoor antenna (actually a super small outdoor type Dtv2B 2-Bay Uhf Antenna) and now have all my local channels and a free 11 day viewing guide on my computer! Now, I can set up my fave series to be recorded ahead of time, and watch them when I want. The last thing I bought was a remote with usb infrared receiver that is "WMC" compatible (Windows Media Center) and now I am able to choose what show to record and which one to watch, all from the comfort of my Laz-y-Girl recliner! The next room is really close with an open floor plan, and line of sight for infrared receiver for the remote 25 ft. away works just fine. Ahh!All of the above cost less than buying a new DVD recorder with a tuner. My husband is now jealous, I have the best remote :)
