If 3D printing is just a hobby for you, then this is perfect for its price point! As it is affordable, some pieces are loose and require a bit of patience. However it does get the job done. I wouldn’t use this if you are doing anything in bulk. While it’s not perfect, it does get the job done and I’d recommend it for anyone just dabbling into the hobby not wanting to heavily invest. I did not get this product for the drill press capabilities...I have a upright press for precision drilling. This product is great for setting the threaded inserts into my 3D printed items, PLA, PTEG, and ABS.

I got this Vertical Heat Press Machine hoping it would make threading inserts into plastic easier, and help with other crafts but unfortunately, it didn’t quite live up to expectations. While the soldering iron itself works fine and heats up quickly, the rest of the mechanism is just poorly made. The drill-press mechanism is loose and wobbles a lot, which makes it hard to use accurately. The base and parts are low quality, with misaligned holes and some rough edges. Assembly was a pain too, as there are no clear instructions, just a few pictures that make it difficult to figure out. Once it was together, it worked ok for basic soldering tasks, but it definitely isn't worth the headache for hat alone. If you just need a soldering iron, I'd recommend getting that separately instead of this whole kit.

I figured that all of these are made in the same factory, and that the build quality wasn't going to matter between a $55 set or a $35 set. My assumptions generally yield pretty good results, but this time I gambled and lost. I didn't want to accept defeat, so I tried to salvage the abhorrent mess I was sent in the mail. Even after I got the thing to stand vertically, the soldering iron (it's literally just that, original tip still installed) isn't straight either! No matter how tight you screw down the shroud, it easily wobbles about making it useless even with a precision drill press. I am going to return this ASAP. If the seller is reading this, I recommend dropping the price to $20. For nearly $40 I'm returning it, but for $20 I'd just throw it out and save you the inventory cost on this product. I'm guessing you'd still make a profit considering the press looks like it was manufactured with forced labor in a Turkish prison.

I love this tool, it works great with my 3d printer and has really helped me increase the quality of my creations. It's easy to use and is holding up really well to near constant use through the past 2 months. I'm very happy with this product.

I actually own heat presses, and was hoping this one "looked" a lot sturdier which I was looking forward to. Boy, was I surprised at just how poorly made this was... For starters, there are no instructions for assembly at all. The handful of images don't show any detail, nor can you easily tell by the images how it's supposed to go together. Two of us who are mechanically inclined worked on it, but it was like trying to do a jigsaw puzzle with no picture, that was missing pieces.Once we got it together, we discovered that it was a long way from accurate or sturdy. Doing it by hand is much more accurate, and a lot less frustrating.there are a lot better ones available, I just can't recommend that you waste your time on this particular one.

This is essentially a power drill press with an iron and some tips thrown in the box.

This set consists of a stand to adapt your hand-drill into a drill-press, a soldering iron and some adapters for mating to threaded inserts of various sizes. I have no issues with the soldering iron or threaded-insert adapters. Those are fine. The problem here - and the reason for my 2-star review - is the abysmal quality of drill-press mechanism. (You'll notice the other reviewers came to the same conclusions.) I see the manufacturer has dropped the price from $45.99 to $35.99. There appear to still be better options on Amazon even at that price point.* Functionality: It meets the minimum criteria to work. It moves the soldering iron up and down, while holding the soldering iron in place (vertically). The mechanism allows a lot of side to side motion, which it should not do. The whole mechanism also needs to be secured to another structure to ensure it doesn't tilt or fall when pushing the lever down because the spring is too aggressive for this light soldering iron.* Material fabrication quality: Many of the parts in the drill press are cast. The base mold appears to be worn and allows material to expand into the areas where mounting holes should be. Instead of circular holes, mine came with about a 3/4 circle and flat section occluding the last 1/4 circle. I'll need to cut this out with a file or grinding tool. The main housing has the opposite problem. A portion of the left side wall actually has a small, roughly-shaped hole. This is indicative of not enough liquid metal getting to that portion of the mold before the metal cooled. It doesn't affect the functionality per se, but it is ugly and creates a sharp edge that should not be there.* Material tolerances: As others have noted, the parts go together very loosely, which means that the moving head is able to move several millimeters left and right as it goes down. For the purposes of heating threaded inserts and melting them into existing holes in plastic, it'll work well enough, but if you ever want to attach a drill and use it as a drill press, you will be thoroughly disappointed if you need to accurately locate the holes you're drilling.* Fixturing: You really need to screw this down to something because the spring force on the lever arm is high enough that it will knock the whole thing over. It needs a wide, flat base or it needs to be screwed down to something firm or heavy so it won't move.* Soldering iron: The soldering iron itself seems to be a standard-quality iron. However, the press makes no provision for cable management. I plan to design a 3D-printed wire guide that replaces the plug that goes into the vertical post. This will keep the soldering iron wire from getting pinched by the mechanism.* Assembly Instructions: As others have noted, it's just a few pictures. You have to figure it out yourself. It's not rocket science, but it is exceedingly lazy of the manufacturer to not even include some words. It's also symbolic of the poor quality of this product.
