Purchased to cover some scratches on a dark gray picture frame. It worked great and covered the spots but is not visible as a correction. Since then I also had the opportunity to use on a black frame and the results were equally great.

Even the lightest grey was very dark when applied to wood and formica.

These aren't bad but aren't top notch. You can make these work with about any color. Might not match but it will get the job done. It doesn't stain easily so more than 1 coat is needed. The size is like a dry erase marker. Great value for a quick fix. Easy application just color it on. Has multiple colors it comes with also.

Refinished my stairs and this came in handy for all of those scratches. I use them on everything now. lol. Will buy again when they run out. Speaking of running out, I have used them a lot and haven't had an issue with them drying out at all. Cap snaps on tight.

I was lucky to get a set of markers that weren't dried out. Also, I have a desk that is light brown with gray undertones and these matched well. The trick for me was to dab the color a few times and then wipe with a paper towel. This allowed the color to gradually build and not show up like a had just drawn it on. I didn't take a before picture but I've included the after. The middle section is where the damage was located. It was a very visible lighter color. I'm zoomed in so you can see the damage a bit but unless you are staring close to it, it's not noticeable.

These pens are so of color and they are all dark. Even the maple wood should be the lightest is very dark. I have an old maple desk that must be 70 years old and thank God I put it on the place you couldn’t see because the pen that is marked maple is dark brown do not buy. They’re a waste of money. Unfortunately, I tried using some of the pens to match up a very light piece of wood for cherry, especially which is the second latest and that went on dark brown again buyer beware cause he certainly don’t work.
