This violin set is perfect for a beginner. I have always wanted to learn to play the violin and this product made it quick and easy to get the materials I needed to start. Everything you need is included - rosin, an electric tuner, spare strings, cleaning cloths & more. The only thing that is not included are instructions on how to get started. Fortunately, there are many beginner lessons available on the internet for me to start learning how to play. I am still pretty screechy, but I am learning how to tune the strings and hold the instrument and am having a lot of fun learning a new skill!I think the violin looks beautiful and love that it comes in a case to keep it protected and in good condition. I feel that the price is affordable and makes it easier to get started with playing the violin for children and adults. Multiple violin sizes are available, make sure you select the correct one for your age/arm length.

This 4/4 full size violin comes complete with a bow, rosin, shoulder pad, finger chart, extra bridge, electronic tuner, extra strings and a very nice backpack travel case to keep everything in. Oh and a manual that was very useful for setting everything up and getting playing right away. The violin itself looks very very nice. The finishing quality is perfect. The colour of the wood and the perfect glossy varnish really add to the appearance of this violin, This is no toy instrument. The only thing you have to do with it to start playing is install the bridge and tune it. Both of which are a bit finicky. The bridge, of which you get a primary and a spare, has to be put under the strings and then held vertically by tension. This took me several tries to get it positioned correctly and not have the string tension pull it over. The when tuning started it pulled over again. More adjustment needed. When tuning I found the pegs wanted to back off once I got the tension correct and tuned to the note, using the handy electronic tuner. I found you have to twist them and push them in at the same time to get them to stay put. This is typical of most violins. I would use the pegs to get the note close and then use the micro adjusters on the tail piece to dial it in.The bow exudes the same level of quality as the instrument itself. Fine finish on the hardware and clean strands for the bow. Tension was easily adjusted following the guide in the user manual. A few drags across the rosin and it worked perfectly. The electronic turner is very handy and can be used for other string instruments as well, like guitar, ukelele, bass. The only problem I had with it is that there is nowhere convenient on the violin to clip it. Not a fault of either the tuner or the violin, just a clash of traditional designs for both. In the end I clipped it to the chin piece and it seemed to work just fine. The case for this instrument is as nice as the rest. A velour lined interior to protect all of the glossy surfaces of the instrument while in storage or in transit. Velcro straps to hold and secure the contents. There are compartments to keep all of the small extras in; rosin, strings, etc. The only one small complaint I have is that the ribbons that restrict the opening of the case are a little short. You cannot get the lid to open more than halfway. As a result, if you don’t hold it, it just falls closed again. These need just an inch or two more to allow the lid to open just over center and stay open on its own. This is a small thing, but it does make putting the instrument back in the case a little frustrating since one hand is tied up holding the case open. The case has a double pull zipper as well as a Velcro closure at center. On the side there is a carry handle and on the back a set of backpack like straps so you can put the violin on your back. Very convenient.Overall, I am very impressed with the quality of this instrument. It looks amazing and performs great. It includes everything you need to get started except for talent, which will hopefully come with practice. If you are just starting off and need an instrument to learn on then this is a great option.

You probably won't find a better beginner's package at this price. This comes with everything you probably need for your first lesson. The only thing missing was a battery for the tuner. It includes the case, bow, rest, tuner, rosin, manual, bridge, extra bridge, strings, extra strings, and a mute/protector. You can even spill some beer on this violin and call it a fiddle.I had to rosin the bow considerably to make it work, but the manual is pretty thorough for setup. For this price you're not going to get a Stradivarius, but this kit will give you an entry level idea of whether violin is something you'd enjoy, It really is quite playable.
