  • No, all banjos are not set up before shipment, as long-distance delivery may cause detuning. However, we provide a complete beginner accessory kit, allowing you to play it out of the box after a simple setup.

  • To assist beginners, we provide a string-length ruler to locate the bridge placement. When installing, ensure bridge's curved side faces the nut and the vertical side faces the tailpiece. The bridge is made of durable maple & ebony, height is 16 mm.

  • Use the bracket wrench to adjust the banjo drumhead tension. Loosen all tension rods slightly, then tighten each rod a quarter turn in a star pattern. Tap the drumhead near each rod to check pitch, and repeat until you reach the desired sound.

  • The main differences are their string numbers and playing styles. The 4-string is tuned like a mandolin for jazz, the 5-string adds a shorter 5th string for bluegrass, and the 6-string resembles a guitar, making it easy for guitarists to play.

  • Nylon strings produce a warmer, softer tone and are easier on the fingers, making them great for beginners. Generate less string friction buzz, easy to maintain, and less likely to break, making them ideal for classical and folk styles.

Great, nylon strings. Lovely sound. Smooth finish. Needs better metal picks.Strings took several days to stabilize but then held tuning well.Neck is standard width, but after lots of effort I realized that I need a wide-neck banjo.This instrument should work very well for a younger beginner with good dexterity and "normal" finger width.

I honestly didn’t think much of banjos in general but when I saw this and what it came with, I couldn’t resist. It’s a beautifully made banjo, comes with basically any beginner would need. Tuner, gigbag, all the essentials. Sound great to me and I absolutely love the design of it. My worst case scenario is if I never learn how to play or won’t play it much, it looks great hanging on the wall, and yes, it does come with a wall hanger!

This full-size 5-string banjo from Vangoa promises quality, and almost gets there despite a few small areas of improvement. Overall, it's quite a good value. You get not only the banjo, but also a proper gig bag with padding and neck protection, a small digital tuner, both plastic and metal fingerpicks, and two extra sets of strings. The body is solid hardwood. The top uses a Remo banjo skin, a standard across professional banjos. The back (resonator) can be used open or closed depending on your preference. The attention to detail shows on the nickel-plated tuning pegs that have pearl/seashell buttons that look expensive.On the weaker side, the suggested placing of the bridge does not seem to be correct, and getting the banjo to stay in tune is a bit of a challenge. The tailpiece is a good looking and shiny piece of chrome, but it's not covered where the strings are tied and the sharp ends of the protruding strings will hurt your hand if you're not careful. These are all relatively minor issues though, and not reason enough to turn your back on this set.It's too early to weigh in on the durability of the instrument, but if the banjo stays more or less the same in a year, then this would be a good investment. Recommended.
