M13-Lyre Bb Clarinet Mouthpiece Profile 88 is little more open than the M13 mouthpiece. It permits easy blowing with harder reeds and produces a rich and centered sound. The M13 Lyre is recommended for symphonic and chamber music.

My teacher recommended this specific mouthpiece to me- I've been playing for 7 years and am relatively advanced. It's a bit brighter than my old mouthpiece, but much easier to play on. It reduced a lot of the fuzziness in my sound and I can reach high notes more easily. For me specifically, the throat tones were more flat than before, but that can be fixed easily.

I bought my last one in 2014 and it’s a bit rough around the edges so my new one is spot on to my last one cheers

It really changed the way my clarinet sounds. Now it's easier to play the high notes. Loved this mouthpiece. Just notice that it's intended to be used with reeds number 3.5 and above.

The standard mouthpiece that came with the clarinet proved to be vastly inferior when my wife used the new Vandoren mouthpiece. Best improvement we have made.

I've used a cheap mouthpiece for 23 years and finally upgraded after extensive research. This mouthpiece works perfectly for my mouth and embouchure, but may not for someone else. The tone is clean and crisp! I was amazed by the difference! Remember that a mouthpiece is not "one size fits all or most". Do your research and find out exactly what you want before committing to one. This specific mouthpiece is just what I needed! (I have a bass clarinet version coming that is similar and hope to have the same or similar results.)

When I play using this mouthpiece it’s like my clarinet is self propelled. It plays effortlessly. Tone is so even keeled and amplified and I’m yet to have a squeak. The altissimo notes took a little getting used to but are coming around quickly. I sure the icing on the cake will be when I purchase the Vandoren single screw inverted ligature...Can’t wait!

Excellent range although sound not as warm as the 5JB (Jazz) mouthpiece. Smoother altissimo with this one.Unfortunately m, I received an “open box” even though I wasn’t notified (no cellophane wrap and the mouthpiece did not have an inner wrap, unlike my other Vandoren mouthpieces. The least the seller could do was to at least notify that the mouthpiece was cleaned—not a good thing (seller claimed it was the “last one”. Obviously I wanted the mouthpiece and had to sterilize it myself. My usual supplier makes sure that open boxes are sterilized but didn’t have this one in stock.

This is a superb mouthpiece that provides a noticeable step-up in tonal quality to the Van Doren B45 mouthpiece that I have been using for the past half century. I was actually shocked to hear the immediate improvement in sound (that may also be partly attributed to my switching to a Rovner Classic Dark1R ligature when I switched mouthpieces) and the reduction in squeakiness that occasionally snuck into rapidly played high notes. An excellent price for a top notch mouthpiece that all serious clarinet players should consider. Quick delivery and good packing as well provided by the seller. Notes throughout all registers seem to have better clarity and brightness to me than with my B45 and a little more resonance; it also seems easier to achieve an sustain a vibrato when I wish to use that

I've been playing clarinet for most of my life and have played on many different mouthpieces. Recently I spent over $200 on a handmade mouthpiece and I decided, after a lot of research, to purchase the Vandoren M13 Lyre as a backup. Well, I wish I had bought this sooner and never spent so much money on the hand made mouthpiece. The Vandoren is incredible! My tone was instantly improved - it delivers a depth and richness I've been searching for for some time. Now the $200 mouthpiece is my backup! The response is also amazing - the ease of articulation and clarity I'm able to achieve on this mouthpiece make me sound like a professional. I've paired this with the Vandoren Optimum ligature and I think it's truly a winning combination. I have to say, I'm a believer in the Vandoren line!In case you're curious I play on a Buffet Festival clarinet - this mouthpiece is a great compliment to that beautiful instrument.I would not recommend this mouthpiece for beginners or young players as it does require some skill to get the correct sound out of it. But I think an advanced high school player and up will definitely appreciate what this mouthpiece can do.
