My son has played mounted castanets in band, so I thought these would be fun for him to try as a handheld instrument. He thinks they are fine, but he isn't in love with them. They are decently made, but nothing spectacular. They sound good, are easy to use, he just prefers the mounted version.

These castanets are crudely shaped, are mismatched, and are missing paint in several spots. They are very disappointing.
