Just received this today. Had to immediately send it back due to a factory defect after speaking with the company. Grrr. But before I sent it back, I realized trying to put it together it’s very cheap and flimsy.Good Lord- save your money. Do not buy this.

It needs some assembly, and the instructions ain't it. The cord is not long enough to do step 2 after step 1. Do step 2 first. Then you will release the hinge before you can do step 1.The instructions say nothing about installing the bag inside it. It's basically step 3, use it. So I unzip the bag part and there is a debris bag inside. Instructions to replace it are sort of written on the replacement bags.

Under the skin this machine uses a motor and fan setup almost identical to an Oreck Magnesium or Discover model. The air path and handle are similar to an XL21 Oreck. While this is a cheaply made and less refined machine in comparison it also is nearly a third of the price. Parts are unavailable outside of the bags, belt and brushroll which is also expected for the price and manufacturer. If you go into things with the understanding that should a part break you’ll need to replace the machine it will be a better value with better performance than an Oreck XL commercial at the same price point. Don’t expect too much from customer service or quality control however, Cleva (the company that owns Vacmaster) currently has this listed with the wrong description on their website, no listed parts availability and the link to the manual goes to a 404 page. The chevron style brushroll somehow made it through engineering with the point of the chevron backwards… If anyone from Vacmaster/Cleva monitors these reviews, you may want to correct that… If you could also make a variant of this with a hose and diverter by ripping off the old as seen on TV Garry vacuum I’d sell my soul for one. As someone who has been a fan of the Magnesium model Oreck I’m very glad to have this as a low cost alternative with similar features and performance. Bags are a knock off of the Oreck CC style with a collar different enough CC bags won’t fit without modification, they aren't badly priced compared to Oreck CC HEPA bags, but lack the carbon filtration layer and also appear to be a thinner 3 layer bag. Not a bad option all in for those on a budget.

This is indeed a very lightweight vacuum cleaner. I like the "older" design type, the ones with a bag instead of a dust bin you empty. They always seem to have greater suction. This vacuum has a very strong and powerful motor. It actually beats my older Dyson in a side-by-side suction test over a medium weight rug. It has an LED light on the front for those dark spaces, although the light is a bit on the dim side. Assembly is easy and straightforward with good, detailed instructions written in clear English. Sets up in about 10 minutes. Comes with a bag already installed, along with 3 spares. Speaking of bags, this is why I deducted a single star. Most vacuum replacement bags - in fact, just about all I see - have round openings, making many of them interchangeable if you can cram them into the holder. This unit has an odd oblong shaped opening, so you are pretty much stuck with the ones from the company. I haven't found any other generic ones to fit this. Something to consider. One last note - yes it is strong but with strength comes noise. This thing is loud!

This vacuum has been tested and approved, and I highly endorse it—let me tell you why. I own four vacuums because I am a "clean" person in overdrive! I vacuum two to three times a week, so I know a good vacuum when I come across one. When I first took it out of the box, I could see and feel the quality throughout the machine. It is solidly built and incredibly easy to assemble; it took just three minutes. All I had to do was push the pole onto the base, and I was done! Although I didn’t need to read the directions, I must say that the illustrations are detailed and easy to understand. They even printed them on a hard plastic page for reference, which is a nice touch if you do need to look at the directions.Don’t let the lightweight feel of this vacuum fool you. When I first turned it on, the suction was out of this world—better than my $500 vacuum that I have had for years. I could literally feel the suction and see my rugs and carpets come to life! I truly can't believe how much I am enjoying this machine. The cord is long enough to reach multiple rooms, and I appreciate the included LED lights, especially when vacuuming closets. It also has two suction settings: low and high. This is one of my favorite features, as my other vacuums only have an on and off button. The on and off button is conveniently located on the handle, which is very handy. This vacuum came with a fabric bag already installed and included a few extras. It's an excellent choice for those with allergies, as the cloth bag keeps everything enclosed, preventing dust particles from escaping. What can I say? It's incredible in every way. If you don’t like vacuuming, give this vacuum a try, and you might begin to love it as much as I do. It’s very easy to maneuver and has a nice wide cleaning path.I highly recommend it, especially for the price. Look at my carpet in the photos!!
