I bought 3 of these. One came almost sharp and 2 came absolutely fubar.... knicks completely blunted corners... Its like I got two that had a start to getting them shaped and forgot to do the final sharpening.... I had to buy special sharpening tools designed for mortise chisels... after a lot of work.... I was able to get 2 of them sharp enough to work. and I use the word "WORK" loosly. If you dont feel experienced enough to sharpen these... I wouldnt buy it.

The quality of this mortising chisel bit is garbage. I have a very large chisel mortiser and I was not happy with the results. Avoid the frustration of cheap tooling and spend the money to buy quality. It is so cheap for a reason... its crap

I've been using thisform some heavier mortising work. It's not often that 1" is needed, but when it is, these have been doing an excellent job.

I ordered this 3/4" mortising chisel if a pinch to keep a project moving. What a mistake! The chisel wouldn't cut into the White Oak with a lot of downward pressure and hence it damaged the gear in the Powermatic 701. Stay away from these pieces of crap!!!!
