I needed a boring head for the few times I require a precision(ish) hole in a part and this one gets the job done very well. The bars included with this kit have a somewhat soft shanks so the set screw will dig into them and make a ridge, which makes them difficult to remove, but the carbide cutters are sharp and cut well. For a better finish, and more precision cut, I finish size the hole with a 2-flute end mill in this head and you can't get any better. The only negative thing I can find with this head is the micrometer adjustments are not near as accurate and reliable as the high dollar units like D'Andrea or Urma but for the low $$ this one will is all most home machinists need.
