HRC 61-63 is extremely hard, usually found in hardened tool steels, high-speed steels, or hardened knife blades. I was not able to get close to drilling a hole in this stuff. If you're looking for something you can machine in the garage, this is not it. Look for Mild steel (A36, 1018, etc.) → HRB 60-80 is much softer and can be machined at home.

I was skeptical, but I managed to cryofit this to a bearing using the freezer, stove top method. Nice and straight

This is full hard thru the core. It is not machinable with normal tooling or drills. Carbide tools and drills hardly make a dent. This is linear raceway bar not HSS bar, Do not buy for machining.

Used the rod to extend a bolt on my spare tire holder in a Jeep XJ. TIG weld the rod on the custom tire carrier bolt and welded cleanly

This shaft was of good quality and dimensions as stated.A word of clarification the description (with combination of hardness and toughness for wear resistance, hardness HRC61~63) implies that this is a hardened shaft, it is not. The shaft may be filed. The description should say 'may be heat terated (hardened) to HRc61-63.

The bar were finished beautifully. But one bar is slightly smaller. Annoying but for my use not deadly.

Good finish, 8mm size is accurate for pulley bores.

Unfortunately I can't use this rod, it was ordered for evaluation, but was deemed unsuitable for the application it was being evaluated for. I will keep if for possible future projects.

I'm using this in a scale. It's holding up the platform and sitting on a load cell. It's constrained by a linear bearing. It fight right into the bearing. I was able to use it right out of the box. It was the cheapest 20 mm rod I could find on amazon, so I have no complaints at all.

This is VERY hard steel. Normal drill bits won't touch it. If you need something easily machinable this isn't for you.
