Great Sensors for Project. Having Fun With Electronics and Programming!

Description:

The Sound Detector is based on a microphone and a power amplifier. It can be used for detecting the sound strength of the environment.
This sound sensor gets signal by both digital and analog output.
"AO" outputs real-time voltage signal of the microphone.
"DO" outputs low and high lever signal when the sound intensity reaches a threshold.
Sensitivity is adjustable by adjusting the potentiometer.
PCB-mounted LEDs indicate the power and compactor output.

Wiring Instructions:
+ ---- DC 3.3V-5.5V
G ---- "-"
AO ---- Analog Output
DO ---- Digital Output

Specification:
Working Voltage: DC 3.3V-5.5V
Nominal Frequency: 40KHz
PCB Size: 35 x 15mm / 1.38" x 0.59" (L*W)
Fixed Hole Diameter: 3mm

If you're trying to pick up sonic booms or explosions nearby, this is the MIC for you!No matter how many times you turn the sensitivity pot, no change in pickup at all. Seems like the variable sensitivity is useless and the MIC is set to detect large explosive sounds only.I need to detect a certain DB level to activate a relay but not like a nuke drop level DB. Probably has particular military applications only. Good for bomb squads and rocket launch detections and maybe large things hitting other things that can deafen a person.

They only register the loudest sounds, like loud clapping. I tried to use then to determine if the shower was in use. It never did pick up the sound of the water running.
