MAX9814 is a low-cost high-performance microphone amplifier with automatic gain control (AGC) and low noise microphone bias. The device features a low-noise front-end amplifier, variable gain amplifier (VGA), output amplifier, microphone bias voltage generator, and AGC control circuit.

I'm using these in some Arduino (Uno R4 and EDP32-C6) projects as simple sound sensors, and they've been very easy to integrate through the ADC, enabling a simple 'clap detector' demonstration for my 10yr old. I know I'm not exercising the full potential of these modules, but I appreciate the ease of what I have seen so far!

These MAX9814 modules from EC Buying work well. You receive three modules and three sets of header pins that need to be soldered on.We've run through a number of tests with them, and they seem to be performing well.
