The alert is not that loud you have to be close to hear it

cheap quality but they do the job as described. Can't beat the price. Just attach to fishing rod and listen for fish bite.

Exactually as advertised. Will get lots of use out of Bells this winter. Myself and friends do a lot of ice fishing. With a extra rod set up with the bells should not miss the hookups.Walter Herd

These were great for the price I paid for them. I think I paid about twenty cents a piece and they are better than the ones I've seen for over $1 a piece at outdoor stores. I like that the clip is plastic and doesn't damage my poles like some of the metal ones do. They are strong and the bells are loud enough to alert me when there is a bite.

Arrived with most broken and I did a test comparison to the electronic alarm This I never heard a peep from while I was getting major strikes. Electronic alarms are the way to go.

I consider these disposable, because I had more than a few that would just fall off while clipping them on, a few that I forgot to take off while casting (and fly away), and a few that would fly off while setting hooks. Some of them were mute (the little piece that makes noise fell out during shipping). But they are cheap enough and I bought 3 bags to last me all year (sharing with friends). Make sure to shake it once in a while to make sure that it still makes noise!

They are basically terminal tackle as the bells come off after clipping them on once or twice..only a strong strike seems to make them chime loud enough to be heard at any distance.. good value as far as they give you plenty so loosing them doesn't end up costing too much...

Hilarious! Ice fished with six people each with two poles. We were lucky to get into the fish or must of had the right baits. We sounded like a Indian call center. People around us left in disgust. The sound carried a lot further in the cold air than we thought. It's a little frustrating when sharing this with your buddies. Keep them out of people's hands and only on your poles! This product makes me wonder how many fish I might of missed. Go ahead and turn your back, they work great. The sound just like Santa Clause. Pavlov's study is confirmed, every time I hear these bells jingle, I pee my pants in excitement. Only a little bit though. A few of these bells were defective, but who cares, I give those to my friends who are also defective. So that's why it gets 5 stars. Call me if you are going fishing, Okay?

I used various bells over the years for fishing for Flathead Catfish off my dock. Most of them fall off through the course of the season. I learned to take them off before casting and while winding in when possible. Taking bells off while winding in is very difficult, these clip ons make that a breeze. They are very sensitive and do the trick. Now if I lose a bell, it's more through carelessness or friends forgetting to un-clip the bells before casting of reeling in. Even if they do cast and retrieve, 90% of the time these bells remain in tact. I didn't go with glow sticks, because I fish a lot and would end up paying a fortune. Glow sticks are neat, but if you got a good set of ears you really don't need bells with glow stick holders.

Great little bells for the lazy or distracted fisherman! Very sensitive and work well. Just remember to take them off before you cast. You will occasionally lose one when pull back hard to set hook but, at this price that is the cost of distracted fishing! I read books while I fish and this makes sure you don't miss a good one!
